“Drain smell!”

Happy with the stay. However we changed room because first floor room (and reception) smell of the sewers/drains. Receptionists very quicly moved us upstairs. If you come here I would recommend 3rd or 4th floor! Very friendly and helpful staff. Loved the lively location near El Born.

“Great Little Hotel”

Terrific location in the middle of Old Town. Easy walking to ATM, Food stores and many major sites in Barcelona. (Great Pastry Shop at the nearest Metro stop (Juame I). Everyone was helpful, but one desk clerk was especially welcoming and gave us recommendations for restaurants and where to celebrate Mid-Summer's Eve or St John the Baptist Eve - a very big thing in Spain. Beds are on platforms (very modern decor), but we slept well. There were no doors on the bedrooms, but the door to the bathroom area was a heavy, frosted glass. Strange, but there were no chothes hooks in the bath. The bath and one of the bedrooms was a few steps higher than the rest of the suite. This would not be a problem for most, but leave a light on at night so you don't forget the step. Would stay there again because of the location and the suite arrangement. The fridge and microwave made it easy to adjust eating patterns when traveling with a 13 year old.

“Small Gem in Barcelona”

A five minute walk to Picasso Museum and Barcelona Cathedral made this hotel our choice. On a narrow side street, it was close to banks, bakeries, restaurants, and transit stops. The hotel was immaculate, modern renovation (about five years old) in an 18th Century structure. Hotel staff consisted of front desk and a maid. The English speaking front desk gave outstanding recommendations for restaurants, directions, local attractions. The lobby contained a wall of relevant books on the area as well as the expected brochures. With kitchenettes in the rooms, this would be comfortable for longer stay. One consideration is the local area. We were cautioned about theft, especially pickpockets. One night we heard gunshots in the area. At dusk the vendors and business clientle left the area. The warren of small streets was devoid of pedestrians or vehicles. However, we had no unpleasant encounterws and we roamed the central area of Barcelona freely.

“Pity about the noise!”

Good, very spacious and clean, ideal for a family except for the excessive volume of night time street noise. Saturday night the noise didn't abate until after 2.30am and we found it impossible to sleep, the other nights were mostly OK. So if you are party goers and out late you will love it! If you have kids or are a light sleeper, think again!

“It was OK for the money”

Our room was nicely sized with a living room, small bedding room & bath, all with high ceilings. It was very clean though there were no kleenex tissues or washcloths of any kind, which was unusual. Also, on two of the three nights we stayed, we'd return in the evening to a sewage smell which was difficult getting used to. And, being in a popular spot, it could get very noisy outside at all hours of the night while we tried to sleep. But, the hotel staff was very nice & it was a great location, not far from the metro station.

“Like having your own Apartment in Barcelona”

Super space. Large. Like having your own appartment in Barcelona. Beautiful city. Hotel Boria right near the subway and the Gothic district. Chocolate and Sparkling wine to great us. Nice touch.

“Hidden Gem in Ciutat Vella”

Great hotel in a fantastic location (albeit a bit hard to find). The rooms are full apartments with a large living room, kitchen etc. One negative is that they do not staff the hotel very well after hours. Between about 23:00 and 6:00 you may have someone who doesn't speak any English. Other than that - SUPER!
