“Nice for the price”
Not located close to the old city but a healthy walk to the metro made its location a non-issue. Wifi available but for those without a computer, the use of their one laptop was tricky. Staff was helpful.
“Perfect hotel and perfect base for Barcelona”
We found all the amenities excellent. The room was modern and spacious with a king size bed. We felt very comfortable in this room- the windows were well insulated against any traffic noise but equally it was nice to have a window that opened when you wanted. Air conditioning and heating worked well and could be easily adjusted. The reception staff were very welcoming and extremely helpful in answering any requests throughout our stay. Nice touch to have a plate of fruit delivered to your room as a welcoming gift. Cleaning staff also helpful and amenable. The hotel was 10 minutes walk from Barcelona Sants station and about 30 minutes walk from heart of city. Four Metro stations were roughly equidistant from the hotel and took just under 10 minutes to reach. We did not eat in the hotel but as ever in Spain there were plenty of cafes or bars in the surrounding streets which sufficed for breakfast or tapas.
“Really good hotel - I'd stay there again”
Well located hotel - felt safe, even walkig around at night. Close to Barcelona Sants train station so easily accessible for Barcelona Airport. Also close to several metro stations so easy to get to tourist hot spots such as La Ramblas, Sagrada Familia, Montjuic etc. If you are feeling energtic, you can walk to most places (took us less that an hour to walk to Sagrada Familia) and you get to see more of the city on foot. The hotel looks like it is on busy road but actually very quiet at night. A little bit of traffic noise in the morning. Clean and stylishly furbished rooms. Staff are efficient and friendly. Overall, I would recommend this hotel and would happily stay there again if I returned to Barcelona.
“not bad”
We arrived early and our room was ready, we took a shower to freshen up, and the water did not clear and I noticed there were no bathrobes, on our way out we reported this and bathrobes were added, the shower was mended and a plate of fruit was left in the room. I enquired about a in room massage as shown in hotel details and was told that it was not available. We requested a cost for airport transfer and was quoted 70 euros, it infact cost us 23 in a taxi. Taxis were easy to find and costed about 5 euros to take you to the centre.
“Hotel Amister is great for three people.”
Found the staff to be very helpful. Worked well for three people and the price was right. Found most hotels in Barcelona did not list rooms for three.
“Excellent Small Hotel”
Lovely small hotel on main road just a little out of the noisy Rambla's. Very quiet area and just a short stroll to get to all the actiona areas and shopping districts. Loved the hotel and would stay again
“Excellent”
This hotel provided very personal service. When family from the States called they knew exactly who we were when we returned and they delivered the message. They were very helpful and nice. Just a tip, if you aren't going to leave by 10AM you should let the front desk know that you don't need your room to be cleaned. We felt bad when we didn't let them know one morning and the maid had to stay late to clean our room. Other than that we were very satisfied with the service. Barcelona doesn't sleep but this neighborhood is very quiet at night.
“"Very good choice!"”
This hotel is comfortable, quiet, and conveniently located. The reception staff were very courteous and knowledgeable, especially Isaac, who was on duty when we arrived. He gave us a very good summary of the main points of interest in the city, the metro/bus system, and suggestions for several restaurants, and offered to make reservations for us when/if we selected any of them. The complimentary fresh fruit basket in the room was a very nice touch, especially after a long day of travel. We would definitely stay at the Amister again if we ever come back to Barcelona.
“Hotel in family neighborhood”
The Hotel Amister Barcelona is a friendly, welcoming hotel in a safe neighborhood of the city. The staff are friendly, spoke enough English to direct us to our destinations and helped us with car rental and taxi arrangements. The morning breakfast was fine and staff were very flexible with our American coffee preferences. The Hotel is within reasonable walking distance of several metro stops as well and excellent restaurant "Mon" was just a few blocks away.
“Met all expectations”
This was my first stay at the Amister and I enjoyed it. The neighborhood had a residential feel to it, but there were several bar/cafes with outdoor seating within a few steps of the hotel. I thought the location was good and it was an easy walk to restaurants and the places that I wanted to visit. There is a grocery store a block down the street to buy snacks, wine, etc. The hotel is modern, the room was large and well laid out. The room had a king-sized bed with a number of pillows and it was very comfortable. The hotel has free wireless which, in my 5th floor room, was hit and miss. I always had strong reception in the comfortable seating area in the lobby. I did not use the restaurant or bar. My only issue with the room was with the heat. The thermostat didnt seem to be functioning and when the heat was turned on the room would eventually get uncomfortably warm. Luckily the windows in the room opened, and I could moderate the heat by keeping the windows open.
