“Great Location”
I admit that we arrived late at night and the first impressions of the street were a little concerning however the hotel welcome and room were excellent. We met with a friend who lived locally and found the good local places to eat and drink. In the morning the street was a lot more welcoming and all concerns vanished! The hotel is in a great location to explore all areas and allowed you to walk to most destinations. When we did get a taxi the drivers were not always 100% familiar with the location of the hotel so worth writing down the address.
“Good Central Hotel”
We decided to use this Hotel as a base for a few days after a cruise. Rates were reasonable, good central location. The rooms were clean and comfortable and our room was quite large, although the other members of our party had a slightly smaller room with a balcony to the front of the building. There was a bar directly across street which made for some noise later at night/early morning. The breakfast was standard continental and was ok. The Hotel staff were pleasant and helpful. All in all, would use this Hotel again. Convenient base for exploring the City.
“Not enough stars!”
Wonderful location, close to transport - especially the tourist buses, best way to get around - and good to be near the sea rather than stuffy in centre. Very helpful staff, clean rooms, and brilliant breakfast - not the usual buffet at all so don't miss out on that! Should be four stars not three in my opinion, thoroughly to be recommended.
“Loved this hotel”
Hotel was clean and comfortable, and staff very friendly and helpful. Very good value for money. It is in a fantastic location - within walking distance of many of the sights and close to the port. Would definitely go back there again.
“:)”
Highly recommended. Right in the centre. Great Hotel
“Great location”
I've been to Barcelona before and stayed at the H10 Raco del Pi which is a better hotel, but more expensive. The Hesperia is in a superb location, just a short walk from the bottom end of Las Ramblas and very near the port. We had read some reviews that it was not a safe area. We were 4 ladies, and never felt threatened at all, day or night. The only 2 gripes were that the lighting in the rooms was insufficient, and the beds were a little on the hard side, but not too bad. I would go back. Our room was at the front, so a little noisy at night, but nothing serious, and our friends had one on the inside which was extremely quiet. Breakfast was good value for money too. Finally - find your own local places to eat - there are plenty which are very good. Don't take the recommendation of the hotel as the place they sent us to was a bit pricey and not that great.
“Excellent trendy bars & restaurants right next to hotel & port, suitable for couples & youngsters.”
Barcelona is a very beautiful and colourful city. Had a wonderful time despite of flight was cancelled due to unexpected heavy snow 3 hours before took off.
“Small friendly, great location.”
After printing directions and going to the wrong hotel, we found this hotel easily. Great location at the bottom of La Rambla, handy local supermarket across the road for water etc: Rooms a little on the small side, but after walking around town all day, a comfortable place to rest for the night, we did not have breakfast included in our deal, but there are several local cafes selling lovely fresh food.
“Great location”
Near to lots of bars, easy walk to subway and sea. Good value when booked via expedia. The only issue was the noise in the street from people until about 1am every night (and that was weekday in May). Breakfast in little bakery next door is excellent!
“Good value for money, comfortable hotel”
This is a good, basic hotel and offers value for money. Rooms are small and decor is simple, but are comfortable and cleaned daily. Location is very good - just a few mins from La Rambla and a good selection of bars, cafes, shops, supermarkets, etc, close by. Rooms can be a bit noisy at both sides of the hotel - main street out front and walkway at back - and people outside dont seem to care if people are trying to sleep, regardless of the time of night. Hotel provides free wi-fi internet connecton, but can be very slow at times. Generally pretty good experience and i'd recommend as a good budget hotel in BCN.

Ciutat Vella, Barcelona, Spain: Barcelona's Old Town, the Ciutat Vella takes in the Barri Gòtic and the world-famous promenade of Las Ramblas. The former is the city's medieval core, a maze of atmospheric alleyways clustered around the splendid Gothic Cathedral. Quirky specialist shops and characterful bars and eateries abound. Don't miss the Museu Picasso and the Museu d'Història de la Ciutat, as much for their palatial settings as their content.
