“Good Clean Budget Hotel!”
This hotel is in a good location. Near places to eat, the La Rambla, a noted excellent avenue to shop, a ten minute walk to the beach area and only about a ten minute taxi drive to the cruise ship port. The hotel and the rooms were very clean although I did find my bed to be hard. I slept on the body pillow and used the regular pillows for my head. They keep low rates because they don't give the extras you usually expect such as lotions, shampoo/conditioner, and tissues. They provide only hand and bath towels but not wash clothes-which wasn't a big deal-I just used the hand towels. There are no coffee machines or microwaves in the rooms but there is a refrigerator. The lack of these items I personally did not find as a big deal. You can bring your own wash cloth, shampoo/conditioner and tissues (or just use the toilet paper if needed). They provide breakfast at a modest price but as I said there are other places right down the block to eat that are very reasonable. The security is good; they control access into the hotel. Lights in the halls come on as soon as you enter so whereas electricity is not wasted, the halls are well lit when you enter them. If you're looking for a modern, clean hotel to stay in, I would recommend this hotel. It's much more reasonable than similar hotels and the few things they don't provide vs. the cost of the hotels that do - it's WELL worth bringing those items yourself!
“fine hotel, near to the port and ramblas. illumination to dark, sometimes loud from inside and outsi”
good position, near to port, bars, restaurants, metro station.
“Close to Port”
This is a value hotel. Rooms are tight for two with a lot of luggage. Can not fit three or more.Close to port for those desiring to take a crise or just leaving the ship. Easy walking distance to major points of interest. Extremely noisy on front side of hotel. Request a room off the street. Do not book here if you need a lot of extras. Staff is friendly and helpful with directions. Free WI FI in room. Not converter transformer for US appliances/computers.
“A pleasant surprise”
This hotel was a great bargain and complete surprise with very comfortable amenities. Staff was congenial and willing to help. Scandanavian type decor was comfortable and functional. Easy walking distance to major museums and some decent restaurants close by. Internet access in hotel. Not conducive to evening strolls. (nite clubs nearby). Would return. Close to MEtro and easy access to cabs for airport.
“reception staff -- first rate, extremely helpful, beds are squeaky, uncomfortable. needs renovation”
The hotel needs a complete renovation from repairing cracked and peeling walls to greasing the very squeaky bed springs. The cleaning staff while very nice could use help in sweeping the floors. There always seemed to be sand on the floor. The rooms were clean. Air conditioning worked well. Again, I must compliment the reception desk staff. They were all very nice. EXTREMELY helpful in arranging tours even when we encountered a problem with one of the tour companies. When we wanted ti see a concert, they applied extra in trying to obtain seats for us. We thank them very much. The neighborhood was mixed. It was friendly but a tad seedy. Fairly convenient to transportation, which was needed to get anywhere.
“Great Hotel”
The front desk staff was very helpful. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Minibar, AC, free Wifi. We had a smaller room but that's the standard in Europe and it's not the smallest I ever had. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. Really close to las ramblas and the port, but not walking distance to cruise ship terminals. It's a very very long walk with your luggage. You'll most likely need to take a taxi. But it's not too far and they're metered .
“Would definately stay here again!”
Excellent location, just a short walk to the port and las ramblas, plus the metro is at the end of the block. The hotel is clean, modern and the staff at reception are helpful and friendly. I couldn't fault this hotel!
“Great Location but..........”
The hotel is very close to a Metro stop and only a few blocks from Las Ramblas so the location is great. There are also several cafes nearby for breakfast or other meals. The hotel was noisy and the rooms small and crowded. We arrived to find they had given away our twin room and we had to share a double bed for one night.
“Barcelona stay before cruise, excellent location”
We had a great stay. It was close enough to La Rambla and other sights to walk. We never took a taxi or needed the metro. (We do like to walk however) We felt safe and this hotel location had a local feel too it. We were only 3 blocks to the bus terminal to take us to the cruise ship. We skipped the breakfast as there was an additional charge and we preferred trying the local fare. Staff was very accomodating. They stored our luggage at the hotel after we checked out so we could wait and pick it up just prior to going to the ship. I wish we could have stayed longer. This hotel was a very good value for the money. We would stay here again.
“Close to the cruise ship shuttle drop so walking is easy.”
Smallish room but clean and quiet. Good but not great access to the old city for tapas and cocktails. We chose this because we can get up, check out, and be at the cruise shuttle drop off point in under 10 minutes. The pier and marina mall are within easy walking distance so arrive the night prior to your cruise..or several nights..and take in the sights.
