MontCada restaurant - Open daily for breakfast and dinner. Breakfast is buffet style while the à la carte dinner menu features modern Mediterranean dishes that include paella, game, meat, fish, and poultry. The restaurant is a light dining space with pale yellow walls and wooden floors, white tablecloths, stylish wall lights and illuminated paintings. Pillars and movable screens provide some privacy for guests. The restaurant can be hired for business meetings and functions.

Bar - The relaxed lobby bar is a tranquil haven away from the busy street. Finishing touches include ornate lamps and chrome framed dark wood tables. Soft background music, sofas with large cushions, and plants add to the peaceful atmosphere. Snacks and drinks are served throughout the day until late evening.

“Excellent Hotel”

Our room was fairly small but comfortable, the location was perfect for getting to various sites on foot and for getting to public transportation, and the staff were extremely helpful. Excellent buffet breakfast.

Area recommendations

There are many interesting neighborhoods close to the center of the city. I would recommend not taking a hotel in the suburbs. Otherwise, you can't really go wrong in Barcelona.

Dining

We dined at some of the city's fanciest restaurants. Although some were excellent, this is not something we would do again. The next time we go to Barcelona we will eat most of our meals at the informal tapas bars and small family owned restuarants. This was the best and most interesting food we found.

“useful, inexpensive amnd conveniently located”

The rooms are small yet functional. Very good bathroom. Comfortable bed. Service is superb--friendly and competent. Location-wise the H10 is about as centrally convenient as possible in this beautiful city. The buffet breakfast for 10 Euros is first rate. I would go back.

“Rooms on the small side, but incredibly modern and clean”

Location is fantastic and you are immediately hit with superb air conditioning when you walk into the lobby, just what you need in Barca. Our room was small, but we had a very comfortable bed and all mod cons in the room, including fridge, safe, flat screen tv, good A/C and a bathroom with all mod cons, although the shower was a bit lame. Views from the room were brilliant (8th floor room). The roof top terrace is great to have a drink before heading out at night, although the jacuzzi is only usable between 10am and 1pm as then they reserve it for people paying for treatments. The hotel staff were fantastic and very helpful. Location is great, opposite the cathedral and 1 min from Jaume I metro stop which can take you down to Barceloneta and Port Olimpic in 2 stops for the evening night out. If we return to Barcelona, we will definitely book this again.

“Good Location”

This was the second hotel I stayed at while in Barcelona. The location was excellent! It was with walking distance to many locations and had shopping nearby. The staff was very nice and helpful. The only thing about the hotel I didn't like was the room was pretty small and the mattress wasn't comfortable at all.

“Good service but noisy rooms”

Even though the hotel service was good, we spent 2 nights and couldn't sleep as well as expected since the noise from the street was clearly audible inside our room at the fifth floor.

Area recommendations

Prior to this hotel, we stayed at another in the La Rambla area and it was very good. A better choice.

“Great location, terrible room.”

Upon arrival, we were greeted with champagne. Staff was friendly and helpful. However, the room we had was terrible. Far too small and could be compared to a linen closet. The bed was also tiny. Very small window that had no view and the room was very dark, as a result of the tiny window. Locataion was excellent with countless cafes and restaurants and other points of interest. Rooftop bar was great with glorious views of the gothic quarter. A short walk to the beach/marina.

Area recommendations

This area was excellent. Cafes, restaurants, supermarkets, bus stops, beach, gothic quarter and so much more. Very convenient location.

“Very nice hotel and location”

Overall i enjoyed staying at this hotel, especially its location is great very close to the subway which takes you virtually anywhere you want to go. Friendly staff, good breakfast and clean rooms were some big positives too. My only gripe would be the low signal on the free wi-fi in the hotel which caused slow connection speeds in most of the room.

“Great location, but small rooms and moving beds”

The holel is near the old town, other important attractions, and many restaurants and bars. The breakfast buffet is very good as well. the rool was small, though, and the twin beds we had moved as we turned at night. Also, the bathroom door was damaged by water spilling from the shower. The bathroom was otherwise OK, and the room was clean. Overall, not bad, but somewhat overpriced.

“Location, location”

This hotel has a great location, can't be bettered. However, no resturant, poor breakfast, tiny rooms, uncomfortable beds - overall this hotel in my opion,really is not 4 star

“Barcelona's Hotel MontCada”

Very clean...helpful staff and small but neat rooms. Hardwood floors, nice bath with foot wash. Two bathrobes were in the room and there is a lovely little bar on the roof of the hotel with great views of Barcelona. The hotel is in a nice location....not far from port, 10 minutes from La Rambles and on edge of gothic quarter....free internet with two computers in the lobby...we greatly enjoyed our two days.

Area recommendations

Walk La Ramblas and explore the Latin Quarter. We did the Hop on and Hop Off buses that provided a nice overview of the city.
