“Fantastic Service and Great For Joining Cruise Ships”
Stayed here in October, pre and post cruise. Hotel was brilliant for allowing us to check-in at 09:30 after arriving on early flight from UK and then even earlier after coming off cruise ship. Both times room was available. 2nd room was very large. Facilities are modern and bathrooms clean. Shower to bath switch didn't work in first room, but otherwise excellent. Free mini bar of soft drinks and beer, saves a few euros. Breakfast expensive, but plenty of places for breakfast nearby. Great place to stay in Barcelona as near to La Pedera and Casa Batjilo. Plus metro station and hop on/hop off bus within 50m.
“Great location in Barcelona!”
Excellent hotel! Stay away from the breakfast due to the cost. There are plenty of little cafes where you can pick up a great breakfast. We had an issue with our room on the second day and they quickly moved us to another room and gave us a free upgrade. Got to love that customer service.
“Excellent Choice”
Excellent hotel, staff was extremely helpful, hotel is close to everything. Definitely would stay there again.
“Barcelona”
The hotel was acceptable, however, in the first 3 hours of arriving, we had two separate people walk into our room with the same hotel key card. The bed was not very comfortable. The location was great.
“Well worth the money”
This hotel was great. Great location. Great customer service and the room was very clean and modern. Although the pool area is small it is sufficient enough to relax in the sun and have a refreshing dip. We were there with our 1 yr old and it was fine.
“Nice Hotel”
The ONLY downside: Lots of guests from tours and cruise ships stay here, and there were the usual yelling children at 6 AM (the hotel can't help that.) But I'd stay here again. GREAT location and clean hotel.
“AC Diplomatic”
Great location in Barcelona. One block from Passieg de Gracia. and Hop on/off Bus. Be prepared it's a very busy hotel and the check in/out process can take a long time! Rooms are modern, but some smell of smoke. Pool is tiny, good fitness facility. Staff were friendly.
“Amazing Hotel”
I booked this hotel because of good reviews made by past travellers. The hotel is amazing. It is better than we expected. The price is well worth it. The room is very spacious, it is American standard 4 star hotel. It is very clean, the staff is very helpful. We highly appreciate the free mini bar. It has water, juices, beer and other drinks. The location is central to everything. The tour bus stop is only a block away, which made it more convenient. When we get tired, we go back to the hotel and rest. Then later go back to the city. The hotel made our Barcelona stay more enjoyable. After a hard day of touring, you go home to a very nice, clean, safe and friendly hotel. We' ve travelled to a lot of different places, and have stayed on nice hotels. But this place is one of the best hotels so far for its price. My husband especially like the wood floors. It makes it a more cleaner room with least dust and dirt.
“great location”
Hotel was modern with a great location. Staff spoke english well. rooms were clean. bathroom was plus and a negative. the shower was modern covering only half the wall. this tended to wet the rest of the bathroom. but shower had great water presure and bathroom was huge. minibar inlcuded for free with free soft drinks and water. Negatives common for Europe; room was not ready until 4PM local time, air conditioning made room cool but not as cold as desired. no in-room alarm clock, athough wake up calls were available. .
“Great hotel in the pefect location”
This hotel is a keeper! Our superior room was spacious and beautiful and included a free mini-bar stocked daily with water, beer, sodas and juices with enough room for a bottle of your own white wine. There is a free gym facility with good equipment and a small roof deck nicely furnished for sunbathing and overlooking the city. The pool is tiny so forget swimming. The staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. Most spoke English quite well. The hotel reception conveniently sells tickets to the affordable hop on hop off sight seeing bus which is a great way to see a lot in a short time. Breakfast at the hotel was expensive and we preferred to eat at one of two really nice cafes right across the street. The hotel's location is just perfect with an ATM on the corner and an easy walk to many of the Gaudi buildings. It is one block from the beautiful Passeig de Gracia - full of high end shopping and another block to La Rambla which takes you to the Old City, Gothic Quarter, and finally to Barcelonetta (the port). There are also lots of good restaurants near the hotel. Our favorite tapas place was Cuidad Condal, an absolute culinary must. One final thank you to the staff at the AC Diplomatic for finding and returning via Fed Ex the wallet we left behind in our room safe containing all our US money, drivers’ licenses etc. Who could ask for better service than that? When we return to magical Barcelona we will look forward to staying at the beautiful AC Diplomatic again.
