“Great hotel”
It's an excellent hotel in a lovely section of Barcelona. Lovely staff. Two blocks from the metro.
“A good choice”
A nice hotel, located close and between two beautiful boulevards quite close to action but away from the noise. access from the airport is easy - by the train (get off at Paseig de Gra'cia, and follow the map; you are about 7 minutes away). The staff in the reception, dining room etc' is helpful and accommodating. Breakfast offers variety of foods for different tastes: fruits, pastries, Vegetables, breads, cold cuts, cheese, cold and hot drinks, cereals etc'. Besides, the kitchen also offers and prepares special requests for coffee or eggs done to the guest's specifications. The single room I stayed in, was small but comfortable, and with the windows closed I could not hear the traffic even in rush hours. The bathroom was relatively big and well equipped. There are many restaurants on the boulevard a block west of the hotel, and on Aribau street, 2 blocks away. They offer nice "meal of the day", for a price far lower than the restaurants on the main "tourist streets" east of the hotel. They are worth exploring. The hotel's restaurant offers lunch too, but I was away and ate out. The reports I read in other reviews, about the sounds coming from next door rooms are somewhat exaggerated. I enjoyed my stay and felt very comfortable. Would go back there anytime.
“Good but!!”
The but being the fact that when other guest use the shower/bath or toilet the noise of the plumbing is quite loud. Otherwise an enjoyable place to stay.
“Best Barcelona Hotel”
Faultless, great staff, clean and comfortable rooms, excellent breakfast all in a modern hotel a short walk from the Ramlas and in a fantastic location with excellent restaurants very close by. manager was extreemly helpful and gave us the room we requested. Would recommend this hotel without reservation
“Cheap and Cheerful”
Good for a 3 Star and value for money, Very clean. 15-20 minute to La Rambles etc. But v basic. Staff were v helpful and friendly.
“Excellent Hotel at a decent price”
Stayed here with my girlfriend in September 2011. Hotel very clean and well ventilated. We stayed in an executive room which provided a decent Air Conditioning system. Only gripe was that we booked a double room and got a twin room instead, but this wasn't really a problem. The room provides an in room safe should you require it, though you have to leave a 10 EURO deposit for the key. Location wise, it is only a block away from the city's FGC commuter train line and about 2 blocks from the metro. Howvever if you want to walk to La Rambla it will take you around 20 minutes. Would recommend to anyone especuially English speakin as the very helpful staff are friendly and have a good grasp of the English language. They even rang up the shuttle transfer to the airport for us.
“great location but hotel left much to be desired”
On the positive side, the hotel location was great, nearby a couple of metro stops as well as within a not-too-bad walking distance to a number of Barcelona sights, in a nice part of town. The linens were clean. The lobby area was swanky and stylish, very well maintained. On the negative side, our "standard" room was "garden" level with a view from the ceiling-placed window mostly of brick. The interior, though nicely furnished, had some dirty-looking painted brick walls. The other non-brick walls must have been very thin because we could hear a neighbor's conversation clearly. We also heard a neighbor's plumbing - faucets turning off and on, water running. A relatively small quibble, it took a while for the water in the shower to heat up. The hotel had a policy of an hour per day of wireless internet access, which seemed strange as the other hotels we stayed at (in Barcelona and Palma de Mallorca, comparable price range) had limitless access. How friendly and helpful the staff were was variable. Size-wise, the room was similar to other European hotels, and the bed was on the harder side but not very different from others we've experienced in European hotels. Overall, we were less than satisfied given the price of the hotel room and compared to another hotel we stayed at in the area in the same price range. It was a striking difference, and not favorable. With a number of other hotels in the area to choose from, we wished we had stayed elsewhere.
“Nice Hotel - Great location”
Good hotel in excellent location handy for shops, restaurants and transport. Used airport train, got off at Passeig de Gracia, hotel a short stroll from station. Upgraded to executive room which was worthwhile as room and bed were bigger also room had a private patio area with table chairs and loungers.
“good value for money”
I and a friend have just come back from Barcelona. The hotel is in a perfect location not far from the rambla but far enough! Excellent tapas and pastires nearby. I felt the other reviews I read before I travelled are unfair. You have to be realistic for what you pay bearing in mind it is a city centre hotel. We both had very different rooms having booked two single, hers on the front and mine on the back. Both clean and very confortable. I would certainly stay there again and wouldnot hesitate to reccomend this hotel.
“Excellent hotel, great price!”
If you're after a good hotel as a base to explore Barcelona this is the place. Hotel is very impressive with its chrome, copper, glass and marble interior. It is immaculately clean, staff are friendly and efficient. Just a few blocks from plenty of good eating places and in a quiet street off the main Passeig de Gracia and its shops. All of Barcelona accessible on foot from here. Will return!
