“Great hotel in a great location”
very nice hotel in a good location :)
“would recommend this hotel”
The Ayre hotel is very well situated for restaurants the Metro and the Aerobus from the airprort. The hotel is well equiped, staff are helpfull. Generally pleasant to stay in. The only minor issue was the aircon, it was either too hot or too cold. Also if you do not like a bit of traffic noise ...ask for a room at the back. Would definetely go back to this hotel on our next visit.
“Expedia did it again, great job.”
Walking distance to Plaça d'Espanya & train station and many bues. We did not spend enough time there. It is a beautiful place to visit. The hotel was in an ideal location to many tourest sites and the MALL at the bottom of the Stadium. We were only there for less than 24 hours but do to the fact it was so close to so many places we got to see alot. The night life was great and close to the hotel. The breatfast was not inclued but there was a breatfast place directly across the street which was very resonalble.
“A nice enough hotel”
Overall a reasonable choice - close to bus/metro at Pl. Espana. Front desk helpful. Got given a smoking room (in spite of preferences) at first until we asked for another non-smoking room. The hotel did accommodate an early check-in which was nice of them. Hotel hallways smell a bit funky - kind of a cross between stale curry and smoke. AC cannot quite keep up with summer weather - the only cool spot in the room was below the AC vent. Free water in minibar.
“Convenient to get around”
We had a great time in Barcelona. The Ayre Hotel Grand Via was less than 2 blocks to all the transportation we needed. We did the Hop-on Hop-off bus tour, and rode the subway. We rode the Aerobus to the airport. Everything was easy use and got us to all the places we wanted to see. The hotel staff helped us with places to eat and what was available around the area. We enjoyed the "neighborhood" feel when walking on some of the streets. The only unusual thing is the European two narrow twin size beds where in the US it would be two double beds. We had a great stay.
“Lovely hotel in Barcelona”
We arrived at the hotel after an all-night flight. The A2 or T2 bus from the airport practically takes you to the door, it was so convenient. The front of house staff were very nice and we were given our room at noon since we were exhausted. The hotel is right near Placa Espagna metro - a 2 minute walk and very close to a neighborhood with lots of restaurants and coffee shops. The room was very clean, the decor was very nice. There was a great hair dryer, amazing rain shower, renovated bathroom with lots of toiletries, a safe, a flat screen TV with lots of English channels and many other little extras. I would definitely stay at this hotel again, the staff were friendly and helpful and the room was very comfortable.
“Good Deal”
Overall a nice hotel in a safe area to walk around. 20 mins by taxi to the Cruise ship port, and 25 mins to the airport.... $20 Euro's for the taxi trip. a number or base level restraunts in walking distance. A large mall the (Arena) a five minute walk... Reasonable price compared to by the cruise port hotels
“Wonderful 5-day stay in Barcelona”
I loved this hotel! Great location; a block from the Plaça d'Espanya & metro station. The staff is very helpful, kind, & professional. The hotel is also very clean & modern. Great buffet breakfast too!
“Modern hotel in Barcelona”
Well located, very modern hotel. It is a bit dark and metallic; the former may well be a green thing. Limited services and although nice and reasonably priced, this is not a 4-star hotel. 3 is more reasonable.
“Hit and miss”
We stayed for 2 nights and while the room was clean and large the AC was not working properly and we woke up at 2am sweltering. However, the staff was helpful and accommodated a room change at 2am. Our next room across the hall was a bit smaller but the AC worked and we enjoyed the rest of our stay
