Fantastic place and located in a wonderful walking district with excellent food options! Close to the metro and all the famous walking streets. Wi-Fi was a bit slow at times but otherwise, our stay was fantastic!

This is the second Axel property that I’ve stayed at in Barcelona. I stayed at the Axel Too Not too far away from this one. Both are really nice. Its location is right in the middle of everything and within walking distance to a lot of the bars. The staff was super helpful when checking in. Got a free upgrade which was really nice. Took advantage of the hot tub/sauna/steam room which was super relaxing and just what I needed after traveling the whole day. There’s even a rooftop bar with some entertainment. It was kind of slow that night I was there but it was convenient and they offer a free drink as a guest. The room was nice, with a city view from the balcony, and the little box with everything need that they give (shampoo, conditioner, lotion and body wash) is always a nice touch. Would definitely stay here again the next time I come through Barcelona.

The staff are friendly and accommodating even I was late a day in my check-in and reconsider my payment with my length of stay. The receptionists are awesome And very helpful to me. LGBTQ guests and heterosexual guests are catered fairly to have the best experience. I would recommend this place with friends and family. Great job guys!!!

Amazing place.
Great stay, staff pretty attitude free which is rare in an LGBTQIA+ place, very comfy. if I have to be really looking at the tiny things the shower head could be a bit higher. :)

Very nice hotel, staff were excellent. Neighborhood is walkable with lots of dinning & shopping options. We are English speaking and managed fine, lots of locals speak / understand some English those that don't try to help with cell phone and visual. Definitely want to visit again.

This isn't a 4-star hotel. I guess it was silly of me to try to support the community by booking at this hotel. I tried the Axel Two down the street on a previous stay which was better to the point that it was cleaner and the staff were more hospitable. Unfortunately, like the Axel Two this location is understaffed and nowhere as clean as the Axel Two. You can't blame staff if the company keeps leaving one person at the front desk to juggle all responsibilities: concierge, check-in and check out,

I had issues with the room they first assigned me because it was in a courtyard . It had ceiling to floor widow that when you closed the drapes you felt in tombed . I ask for a change and they said well we are out out of room with balconies . I informed him that I didn’t ask him for one . They then placed me in the room next to their sky bar,. You may say great but when your trying to sleep not so great. I found ants in the room and they told me that I must have done something to attract them , the sky bar has plants and sugary drinks and located on the 7th floor . I think that was the true cause . They said that it was late and could do nothing . I said that I will be out the next day and to please do something about it or change my room for my last night . Looks like they only cleaned and never mentioned it me .

Solo in Barcelona
I wanted to be in a safe and central place in Barcelona and this hotel was it. I had a great time, everyone was nice. The room was awesome, safe and comfortable. I booked a massage while there and it was really nice.

Incredible location and staff. Very nice room with amazing balcony overlooking town. We are heading back tomorrow for a few more days. Highly recommend both Axel in Barcelona and Madrid.

Though we cannot fault the staff who were super helpful and pleasant, we felt the hotel looked quite shabby in places, including our bedroom which has broken and chipped floor tiles and the pool area which has seen better days. Considering we paid significantly more per night than the previous 4 star hotel we stayed in the week before, I found it a bit of a let down and not sure I would stay there again.

The property lived up to expectations, 4 star etc. Very clean and well kept and excellent staff. If I had the slightest complaint it would be the hot breakfast, no fried eggs etc but thats a minor point.

Good for Gay men travelling alone
Great to meet other guys at the bar. I made Mary's and we went to party together. It's good fun. Hotel is good. Gym was never busy. Pool is small but fine. The pool area I initially found daunting but actually it's fine.

I had a wonderful stay. The staff were very friendly and held my luggage for me on my departure day and allowed me to use the pool after my checkout while J waited for my flight. Vady possibly spelt Vally was very kind and helpful.

Faultless for friendly, helpful staff, cleanliness and quality of accommodation. Brilliant location with great facilities. Room upgrade was very welcome. If I was being exceptionally picky the only improvement is better wifi reception.

I had a nice stay over all. But some things were not perfect. For example the pool is open until 7pm and I arrived at 5pm. When I asked for a towel they said they ran out and couldn’t give me one. Another thing is that there was an event at the bar one evening and they did not think to reserve one of the elevators for the guests. I had to wait over 15 minutes to be able to take the elevator to my room which was kind of annoying. Otherwise nice staff and stay.
