“really sad we had to leave.. already planning our return visit, and the Avenidia Palace”

This is our 5th vist to Barcelona, and th secound visit to the Avenidia Hotel, A most excellent location, located 2 doors away from Obama bar,defiantely worth a visit, on the corner is a tapas bar which is one of the best in Barcelona. the hotel staff were friendly and helpful, I emailed th hotel 1 wek before and they organised for us to stay in te sam room we had te previous year. Wel done hote lAvenidia reall sad to leave but will return. asta la vista baby..

“Great Hotel”

This is a Great Hotel with a central location and access to parking not far away. The staff are friend and and speak good English. We had one of the few rooms with a very large balcony (801) and views to the City and Catheral. Will be back one day

“Great Location”

Super location very close to La Rambla and within walking distance to most of the attractions. Rooms are clean and the views of Barcelona from the ninth floor are impressive.

“The Metro is shaking the Hotel to pieces”

Such stark contrasts - four star feel but no bar, basic but expensive breakfasts, impersonal reception staff and lack of overall atmosphere. Excellent location but the tremors the building endures as a result of the metro are alarming - evidenced by the cracks in the walls and floors of our bathroom.

“Class hotel & great location”

My wife and I stayed at the Avenida Palace for a total of 5 nights - 3 pre-cruise and 2 post-cruise in September/2011. We were extremely happy with the quality and service plus the great location - being only a few yards from the attractions on La Rambla and only a 5 minute walk from the beautiful Catalunya Square. There were a few minor hiccups - room safe didn't work and no face cloths (European style ?) - but this is a classy hotel ! One word of caution - we booked pre-cruise through Expedia in February and got excellent rate for early prepayment.Post- cruise booking was not prepaid and rate was double - so book early !

“Avendia Palace - August 2011”

Just returned from 7 wonderful days exploring Barcelona - Enjoyed staying at Hotel Avenida Palace - fantastic location, location, location - just off P. de Gracia , and Rambla Catalunya, one block away from Placa Catalunya and close to the major Gaudi architecture sites (2-3 blocks) Across from a metro station - Which I did not need to use it as I was able to walk to all the major attractions - La Rambla - 2 minutes walk / Sagrada Familia - 15 min walk / Museu Picasso - 10 min walk / Catedral de Barcelona - 10 minutes / Beaches - 20 - 30 minutes walk / Cassa Batllo - 2 minutes The room was comfortable (stayed solo) - with a bar fridge that was convenient for keeping own food - as staying in the expensive area. I would recommend this hotel - great restaurants in the area - fantastic shopping and walking distance to the sites of Barcelona. Staff were good, respectful and helpful - room was clean - you can feel the rumble from the metro under the hotel - but it didn't keep me from sleeping - and no view ( inner court yard with view of rooms across the yard) - but I was not there for a hotel view and the location to the sites of Barcelona was more important.. I would recommend this hotel for its safety, cleanliness but mostly for its location, location, location. Wifi access is 30 minutes per day (lobby only) - the bar fridge is useful for longer stays, the bathroom was clean with good water pressure and ample hot water, appreciated air conditioning with responsive control.

“Great Hotel in Barcelona”

This hotel was in a great location just a few minutes walk from the Placa de Catalunya where the airport bus drops off and the tourist buses interchange. The hotel was also surrounded by lots of shops and restuarants and within walking distance of Las Ramblas. The staff were friendly and very helpful and the room was spacious, clean and tidy. We had a very enjoyable stay.

“Right amongst the action but peaceful and classy.”

Excellent location just off Placa de Catalunya. Close to everything but peaceful. Good for transport links (taxis, metro, bus turistic, aerobus). Close by to Casa Batllo, La Perdera, La Rambla. Hotel has an impressive classic interior though public areas grander than the guest accomodation. Staff very friendly and professional. Good English spoken.Requests dealt with quickly and effectively. Food (which was not included as part of my booking) was pricey but excellent quality - not tourist fodder! Not many fascilities only restaurant and lounges. No pool or gym but you won't need this anyway - there is too much of beautiful Barcelona to see!
