“Regular user of the Astoria”

I use the Astoria when in Barcelona for business and it is convenient for my needs. On this visit the room I was allocated had a interesting smell and I went to reception and they changed my room without question. Due to the fact that I only sleep at the hotel, Barcelona has so much to offer I can'r comment on the other facilities, however, it is a clean hotel, with an impressive entrance and bar.

“Comfortable”

Located central to most things, provides reasonable base to explore from. Hotel clean and in good condition, room as expected with usual features. Bed comfortable, it was winter and room and hotel warm. Did not sample food, ate out breakfasts as well. Reasonable cafe next door.

Metro 5 mins walk. All major places either within 15 mins or via the metro.

“Good quality”

Very clean. My room was very quiet. Prompt fixes (slow drain, out light fixed).

“Very Comfortable and all staff spoke English”

a very typical Spanish Hotel situated in the Business Quarter of Barcelona

“Cup and cake coffee shop”

Pleasant and friendly staff. I would like to go back and the surrounding shops are very handy in particular the tapas bar and cup cake shop.

“Average three star hotel according to the European standard.”

We just returned from Barcelona and stayed in this hotel for nine nights. Don't expect too much from this basic three star hotel. However, the hotel is in a safe neighborhood and 10 to 15 minute walk from either metro station or the cental of the shopping district. There are also several buses only a couple of blocks from the hotel which will take you to several major tourist sites. For example, No. 50 bus takes you around the city you can get off for several major tourist spots along the way. There are several grocery markets a couple of blocks from the hotel you can shop for your daily meals as well. We are satisfied with the hotel location in general.

When to go
Early November is a good time for visiting Barcelona. The weather is nice and warm. You only need a sweater and a light jacket at the most. The hotel rates are much lower than the peak season. Many museums are free on the fist Sunday of the month. So you can save a lot if you travel with a family.
Getting around
Buy T-10 ticket s to save money for the transportation.

“Good Hotel - Good Value”

Hotel Astoria was well located in a quieter area of Barcelona but fairly close to major attractions. Rooms were very clean and staff were courteous and helpful at all times. The hotel has many good restaurants and bars nearby. Would stay there again.

“Excellent location and hotel”

This was the second time we were staying at the Astoria. We like the location, close to many venues but far from the noise. The rooftop swimming pool is small but nonetheless an appreciated addition in Barcelona. The reception staff was very helpful and professional. The hotel is in top condition and our room was impeccable. We will definitely go back to this hotel.
