“Good hotel if you are going to the airport the next day”

This is a good hotel, staff were friendly, check in was easy. Nice coffee, tea and pastries in the afternoon. Free Wifi, in lobby. Hotel was clean, but air conditioning is turned off at the end of Sept. It was a very hot October, but we were able to open the window in our room. Marriott, you do need to upgrade your linens to match the good quality of the hotel, holes in the sheets not acceptable. Lovely pool and patio, easy walk to the beach. It's a quiet hotel, and a quiet area. !0 min taxi to the airport (30euro).

Area recommendations
Small beach area. Chez Bea is a lovely creperie on the main street, nice food and a very friendly owner, go say hi to Bea.

“Out of the way and unfriendly”

We needed an "airport hotel" and thought this would fit the bill. The fact that they don't have a shuttle to or from the airport makes it less than convenient. A cab can not pull directly up to the door of the hotel, so you have to schlep your belongings up the drive and in the door. There is no bellman, so you also have to get it to your room. There is a free minibar in the room. The hotel restaurant is not open all the time (although room service is available). There is not much to the main street of Gava, but the beach is about a block from the hotel and there is a nice pool on site. Overall, our negative feelings were based on the difficulty with airport transportation as we were led to believe there was a shuttle. There is an excellent restaurant out the door, to the right, and down a block called El Torreon.

“Weekend of no sleep”

I chose this hotel as it was out of town, their website appeared to be for professionals so I could mix work, study and travel in a relaxing environment. All day Saturday there was loud music and a children's party booked with screaming kids running around and stop-start Euro pop at top volume. I had to leave the hotel to find somewhere to work. Relaxing quietly by the pool was out of the question. On my return, a wedding party was booked in the room beneath my room. Loud music - louder than my TV, was played until 3.30am. I could not sleep. I was exhausted and miserable the next day. I don't mind kids and parties - but not without warning, not at this price and not in a business hotel. Don't stay here at the weekend if you want any peace or service at all.

“Beautiful place to stay”

Fabulous elegant hotel right next to the lovely beach, and a long well-kept walkway to nearby villages along the beach. Local tapas bar, and don't miss Chez Bea creperie in Gava Mar Av del Mar, and the Torreon restaurant almost opposite.

“Great hotel for a quick overnight stay”

Clean hotel with good customer service. Close to airport. Near residential area, not many restaurants to choose from. Would recommend this hotel for any business traveler. A little on the expensive side.

“Nice hotel”

Really nice location on the beach with private pool. Rooms are all seaview with balcony and free minibar!! Outdoor pool really nice and direct access to the beach. We could see our cruise ship leave port from barcelona from the room. The hotel says there is movies on demand but this is not true. Only real downside was that the lift had poo on the floor for the whole time we were there and it stunk awful, the staff just laughed at it and did nothing to sort it out!! The location of the hotel was good and was only 5-10 mins away from the airport by taxi - 25 euros with baggage. On the whole a nice hotel but service a bit rubbish.

“An excellent base for visiting Barcelona”

We thought the hotel was ideal for mixing relaxation with sightseeing. The hotel was clean, modern and had excellent service. We spent alternate days relaxing by the lovely pool or walking along the 8 kms beach, with trips into Barcelona. There was a bus stop 2 mins walk from the hotel with regular buses taking 30 mins into central Barcelona.

Traveller's tip
Buy a 10 journey travel card from any metro station which enable you to travel on buses, trains and furniculars and is very cost effective way to see the sights and the local area.

“Luxe hotel wel wat ver afgelegen van centrum”

Dit Hotel is zeker aan te raden voor mensen in een rolstoel maar ook voor mobiele mensen, het is wel ver van het centrum ongeveer 15 kilometer wij hebben een auto gehuurd. Wat je in Barcelona niet moet doen is s'middags nog met de city bus toer mee gaan, er wordt plots klaps van chauffeur gewisseld en dan moet je de bus uit en je ziet maar, bij iedere toeristische attraktie moet je wel uit stappen want je ziet ze vanuit de bus niet en dat lukt niet meer na de middag € 23.00 p.p kun je beter gebruiken voor iets anders.
