“Excellent accomodation, Excellent helpful staff,Beautiful beach and gardens”

My stay was in connection with my daughter's wedding. This is a truely beautiful hotel, with helpful polite staff very attentive to your every request. I preferred the buffet meals in both Reflections Restaurant and the more casual Drifters Restaurant as you could choose exactly what you wanted rather than the more formal waitress served meals. Even on the beach Stephen the Beach Waiter never rested in bringing drinks, chilled fresh fruit and Ice cream to your sun lounger, will definitely return to this tropical paradise

Bridgetown and Holetown both worth a visit. Use the Yellow Buses only one US Dollar per trip for a memorable journey , reggae music included

    “Recommended for a great holiday”

We have just returned from 10 fantastic days with loads of brilliant memories from a very well run hotel. We had an ocean view room also over-looking Drifters beach bar and restaurant which was spotless and promptly cleaned every day - we did suffer a plumbing leak discovered at 5.40am which was repaired and cleared up by 8am the same morning. The huge bed was comfortable with the sheets changed every 2nd day, towels daily including 2 for the beach left in your room. We dined everyday at Reflections - there was a good selection at breakfast with something for everbody although too much reliant upon tinned fruit at times. Evening meal was a la carte with 4 options for starter, main and sweet - it was good to see dress standards enforced. It is necessary to book each evening - each Wednesday offers buffett style - Italian and Mexican during our stay. There is the alternative option of Drifters with a more relaxed dress code which also offered a varied choice. Service throughout was excellent including a smile. Both restuarants offered lunch but we tended to use Drifters which offers a good choice. We spent most of out time on the sandy beach with it's plentiful supply of beds and umbrellas - drinks, fruit and ice-creams are delivered to your sun bed. The sea is a bit rocky in places - take a pair of swimming shoes. The free water sports are excellent and varied. Beach sellers can be a nusiance but do not detract from a great place to relax. Would come back without hesitation.

    “can't wait to go back”

Crystal Cove is AWESOME!Would definitely recommend to anyone.Food was excellent & elegant-service was excellent-staff was very attentive & polite.Atmosphere was absolutey perfect and there was an oceanview from everywhere.Would recommend to any couples looking for a romantic getaway. Very knowledgeable bartenders! Our only recommendation to the hotel would be to have food and drink service available later into the evening. Restrauants were closed by 10:00 pm and bars by 11:30 pm. We were comfortable enough with our surroundings to leave the resort at night & take a city bus into a local town for their weekly fresh fish fry.We were recommend taking a taxi if you decide to do that instead the bus.All in all this was the BEST trip we have ever taken!

    “Good quality resort”

We found this to be an excellent all round enjoyable experience for our honeymoon:-) Excellent room - clean and tidy room. Excellent staff, all willing to help and advise. Great tasting food, drink and plentiful. Good selection of free water sports. We paid extra for the jet ski. Only grip is the second restaurant 'Cutters' which is outside and prone to flying birds after the good tasting food....lol Gym facilities were good. Evening entertainment during dinner not great but there were bands on occasions playing which was nice. During our time there were a mix of couples and small families at the resort. We were able to book a free courtesy room for 30min before the taxi arrived to freshen up as we had a late flight and were able to use the resort facilities at no extra cost until we left. Excellent resort and thoroughly enjoyed out time there.

    “Great place for Honeymoon”

Only went for 5 nights so didn't want to leave the complex. Food, service and room was fantastic. Although you are limited to only two resturants the hotel mix the menu's really well. We had a sea view room and enjoyed watching the great sunsets. All the water sports are included but you do have to book some the day before. If you want a place to go away enjoy great food, sandy beach and water sports this is the place for you. We are planning on going back with the kids next time. Also a must is a trip to swim with the turtles. We paid $50 each for a 3 hour trip which was fantastic (don't forget to take a under water camera)

    “Fun Time”

this hotel was more for younger people considering the amount of stairs that are throughout the property. The beach was very large and they offered an array of water sport activities which was fun. Noisy hotel but overall we had a good experience staying here.

“We loved it so much we are going back”

This is the first time travelling to Barbados. Wow! from the moment you are dropped off at Crystal Cove you are greated with a very warm welcome and smile. You do not have to wait at reception on arrival to check in. Instead you are taken to the seating lounge and are offered a rum or fruit punch with the most spectacular views of the greens and blues of the sea, and if you arrive late in the day you are also greated by a beautiful sunset. The staff - by the way are amazing - When you have relaxed and enjoyed your welcoming drink, you are then shown to your room. The porters make you feel very at home. You do have to make reservations at Reflections for your evening meal. This is not a problem at all. Breakfast and lunch is also served at Reflections so while your are eating during the day just make your reservation for the evening. If you are eating at Reflections - for the "Gents" you are required to wear long trousers and shirts or polo shirts.(No Shorts, T-shirts or open toe shoes) and for the "Laddies" dresses, long trousers. (No flip flops - T-shirts). For breakfast and lunch is very casual. You can also eat outside for lunch and your evening meal. You are overlooking the beach. This is casual wear. Please note that you will need mosquito spray, creams, wrist bands. During the day on the beach you will be brought drinks, fresh fruit salad, lolly ices. There is plenty of free water sports for the family. Beach towels supplied every day, hair dryer in the bathroom.

    Area recommendations
We travelled to Holetown on the bus - which is an experience. If you would like to watch the football games and you are a Liverpool fan then go to Wendy's bar. The owner is a great Liverpool fan. Just a short walk from the hotel. Walking along the beach is great. The kids can collect shells and even see the monkey's. You will often see crabs walking around. I would take swim shoes with you for the rocky parts of the sea.
    When to go
We went on the 9th August - 23rd August. We had 1 full day of heavy rain. We were very lucky with the weather as it was approaching the rainy season.
    Getting there
We booked with expedia and we found them to be fantastic. You print of your taxi vouchers online and as soon as you arrive at Barbados - everything was taken care of.
    Getting around
by the local bus. cheap and an experience
    What to pack
swim shoes, mosquito spray/creams/wrist bands. plenty of sun cream as the sun cream at the hotel shop can be a little expensive The hotel does supply every day - soaps/shampoo/conditioner/body cream/sbeach towels. Hand fans and batteries are very handy for leaving on the table in Reflections whilst you are eating your dinner. We used ours every night. Boy so glad i packed them. They are great for keeping the kids cool. Sun hats/ sun glasses and goggles for the kids.
    Must see
swimming with the turtles. Look for the glass bottom boat - Yellow and blue. Ask for Roderick. He will take photo's of you with the turtles and then email them to you. There is also rum punch for the adults and soft drinks for the kids. You can find him on the bach at Crystal Cove.
    Shopping
You can hop a bus to Holetown to the shopping mall. There are great shops. Take your passport with you as you can purchase at duty free prices in some shops. There are stalls on the beach were you can buy things. Patnell is great.
    Dining
Reflections within the hotel was great.. Lovely food. The children have a choice of eating off the adults menu or kids menu. There is also a buffet service on certain evenings. The staff are lovely. If dining here you do need to make reservations for the evening. Long trousers and shirts/polo shirts are required by the gents. - No flip flops/shorts or open toe shoes to be worn. Laddies - dresses or long trousers. - No flip flops/shorts/t-shirts . It was lovely to dress up for dinner. Breakfast and lunch is also served in Reflections - this is alot more casual. You can eat down by the beach area with a more casual dress if you like. Make sure you have mosquito spray or creams on. The cave bar is lovely to chat to other families. May be a cocktail before dinner or just during the day . If you are feeling very warm - just swim up to the bar and order what you like. The children loved this as they could order lots of milkshakes.
    Family-friendly activities
There are lots of free water sports on the beach. Please note - you have to book early as they get booked up very quickly. Yellowfin is located on the beach. They have a great kids club and baby sitting service. Even though we did not use the service - friends of ours did. They have lots of activities for them and it is also very well air conditioned. I
    Events and shows
There is entertainment on at the hotel. this does finish at 11pm. you also have 2 nights without.
    Outdoors or beach
The beach was perfect for our family. You can happily sit on the sun beds provided while the kids play in the sea building sand castles making lots of new friends, using the free water sports or jet ski's , diving and swimming with the turtles at an extra cost. The swimming area of the beach is surrounded by large coral rocks, swim shoes are needed if you would like to swim out further to sea. Just in case stone fish come further into shore. A fisherman did catch a stone fish while we were there. About 12ft away from the rocks. He did say that this was a one off - but it can happen and it did. please do not let this put you off swimming further out to sea. it is very beautiful and the colours of the water are amazing. He said that you will be fine with swim shoes. We used ours alot and so did other families.
    Other
Everyone we spoke to said the same thing. - The hotel was great. Very very friendly. The staff were amazing. We were very very sad to be leaving. All of the staff are a great asset to this hotel. There is plenty of security walking around. Take time out to talk to the staff and you will see how warm and lovely they are. Next time we go i will be leaving the towels/hairdryer/shampoos and conditioners at home. The air conditioning in the rooms were grreat. There are 2 large units and also 2 ceiling fans. There is a fridge for your own use which was great. There is also a room safe and iron and ironing board. Sat TV. When we booked we were offered a pool or garden view. when we got there we had an amazing sea view. Wow - we did not expect that. THANK YOU THANK YOU CRYSTAL COVE

“Older than expected, but nice by Barbados standards”

At first i was a little disappointed with the hotel as i felt it was a little old and needed some maintenance - others had expressed the same opinion to me on the resort. However, most places in Barbados seemed quite run down and Crystal Cove was definitely in better shape than most places i saw. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. They make you feel very welcome right away and go the extra mile. The food is amazing and you have plenty of options to choose from. You need to make dinner reservations every day, which was a bit annoying and the hours could have been a little better. Breakfast 7-10, lunch 12:30-2:30 and dinner 7-9. The beach there is very nice and they have plenty of (free) water sports to do. The rooms are nice, but i wouldn't pay for the ocean-view again. We saw a tree, not the water. The AC in the rooms works very well, which is essential with the heat and humidity there. They have free internet access in their business office, which is great, although it wasn't always easy to get a computer. The pools are small, but nice and the cove bar is great. If you are going to Barbados i would highly recommend Crystal Cove.

    Area recommendations
Stay on the west if you want to maximize your beach fun as the east is very wavy and you often can't swim there. There isn't much to do in the area surrounding Crystal Cove though so if you're a partier, you may want to stay South as i've heard that's where the night life is. Most people i spoke to at Crystal Cove stayed on the resort as a result of the lack of places close by.
    Must see
I highly recommend you take a boat and swim with the turtles and fish - i used Tiami Catamarans and had a great time. I ended up going out and swimming with them again. Bridgetown was a bit disappointing and we could have left after an hour instead of the 3 we were allocated by out shuttle. It's mostly jewelery stores, which i didn't find to be any cheaper.

    “Would return”

I loved everything about the hotel except the dining.. the sun comes up early (4:30am dependent on the time of year) and they aren't ready to serve breakfast until 8am and it is a buffet. The coffee was good but occasionally the machine was out and hadn't been attended to. The formal dining is a buffet.
