“Beautiful Beachfront Hotel”
This was my first visit to Barbados and going by myself as a single woman I wanted to choose a place where I would be comfortable and safe. Having spent days deciding whether Coconut Beach or Butterfly Beach was suitable I was glad to say I had made the right decision in the end. Cocount Court Beach Hotel is in a great location with picturesque views of the beach with palm trees, white sand and turquoise waters. There are some rocks in the water but once you find a walkway you'll find yourself emersed in beautiful warm waters. There was always beach beds available and plenty of shaded areas when the sun was too hot.Sttaff were friendly and made you feel welcomed. I expected 2 and a half stars as rated but the cleanliness of the room and facility made it feel like a 4 star. A $1 bus ride takes you to a nearby supermarket (food is more expensive compared to the UK) where I bought some snacks to use in the mini oven and microwave supplied in the room. It worked a treat! USD is accepted in majority of places on the Island. Only reservation I had is that there is no complimentary Wi-Fi but with views of the beach it is excusable that you needn't be on a laptop. Also would have been nice if the hotel offered an all inclusive package but its not such a huge deal as there are plenty of places to eat around. I certainly will return back to Coconut Court Beach Hotel, and would recommend this hotel to people who like to travel by themselves for a break from work.
“You get what you pay for”
I wasn't expecting too much from the ratings and reviews but took into consideration what we paid. On the up side we lucked out and got the perfect location of our room, ground floor facing the ocean. Pretty quiet and convenient. Take beach shoes for swimming since the floor of the ocean at this beach is rocky. Kyacking was a ball, we fell in twice and had a good laugh. Visit the Crane for a better beach. The included breakfast was appreciated at first (few days) and then got old because it didn't change and the choices were poor, overcooked oatmeal, white toast and canned fruit not so good muffins and pasries. I was glad for the coffee but couldn't get any after breckfast. We took advantage of the Happy hours to save on drinks. The bed, pillows and sheets were the worst, so I would suggest bringing what you can, I did and it was my salvation. The busses are cheap for getting around but are a real cultural experience and if you are bothered by crowding take a cab. Ted's tour was worth it, a good time and a nice meal. It was nice to get a broad overview of the whole Island and yet there was still more to experience, A week is never enough! I would probably go back to this hotel because it was economical and so close to the beach which is the main attraction.
“nice place”
reasonable price for what you get, spacious room, wonderful beach!!!
“Laid back Barbados beach holiday”
Friendly, laid back, chilled out - nothing fancy, no frills, but a good family feel about it. Complaints were sorted in 'Bajan time', i.e. after a few reminders, but all staff were charming.
“It was ok”
It was just a regular hotel but for the price it was suited. However don't be fooled by the "Breakfast Buffet" they post. Its really a Continental Breakfast Buffet with even more limited choices. Simply toast, a small cinnabon, differing muffins each day, cantaloupe and honey dew (both of which I dislike ), a couple days of canned fruit cocktail. Butter jam. To make up the empty space decided to order of the hot breakfast menu-even more disappointing. For $5US we ordered 2 eggs any style. The servings seemed the size of one egg. Sad to say we left every morning hungry even after ordering extra items. The rooms were clean and remain so throughout or trip. The beach was not to our liking as one had to navigate through some underwater rocks before getting to waist high. Needless to say we never went in. Though the above was not so good the location is good. A walk away from the start of the boardwalk or St. Lawrence and the island is so safe that we travelled around just as the locals in the maxi taxis at $2BDS. All in all it was a good trip. Service was always met with a smile and willingness to be of help with the exception of the male Front Desk employee, he was very unaccommodating and lacked a welcoming attitude. We refrained from approaching Reception as long as he was there.
“Very Happy”
Pros: We were very happy with the location & amenities the hotel offers. The hotel is in a great location, right next to the bus stop & you are "in town" within a short 10 min drive or down the street to St. Lawrence gap or Oistin's for cheap food . The hotels nightly entertainment is great & the hotel store offers a great selection of snacks & gift. The staff in the gift shop were very friendly & did all our attraction planning/booking for us. The hotel was right on the beach which was clean & well maintained. Most staff was very friendly, greeting you every time they saw you which made us feel very welcome. BUY A SNORKEL SET FROM THE GIFT SHOP or save money & bring your own for an opportunity of a lifetime!!! Such an amazing experience. There are tons of fish about 15 feet from shore. Hotel is a close beach walk to the Boardwalk which is a hot spot & a great work out path. The room was very large & spacious and the bed was HUGE and comfortable! Cons: Staff in the restaurant were not the friendliest at first but warmed up after they got to know us. Not much cheep eats around unless you walk down about 10 minutes to KFC. The toilet in our room was not working properly so we had to flush several times for it to work. We did not ask to have it fixed, and I'm sure it wouldn't have been a problem if we did. One major issue I had that would keep me from going back is that I notice cockroaches in the room & washroom in the mornings. I would go back if these was dealt with
“Great trip”
I took my daughter for a week and we had a blast the hotel and the staff were awesome they knew you by name within the first day and made the trip even better. there was plenty to do and places to eat all within walking distance, i read reviews before going talking about how expensive food was, but I completely disagree everything was almost the same as what I pay here at home. We spent a couple days on the beach and after walking the beach in a couple miles both directions it’s by far the best hotel beach around! I can’t wait to try to go back again.
“would have had a good time anywhere”
It was a good place to stay. Thought it was closer to the Gap than expected but that may have been to my own geographical shortcomings. Breakfast was included and we were thankful for the meal given the cost of food in Barbados. The beach was absolutely gorgeous.
“Nearly perfect”
Nice but older established beach Hotel with probably the best location, coconut palms and beautiful view (facing south) of the Carribean in Hastings. Friendly staff with small beach bar and nice open air restuarant. But quite a limited menu and weak coffee. Very few other restaurants and shops closeby in the neighborhood. Excellent palm fringed, small, white coral sand beach but a mix of stones and sand in the warm sea. Need to bring some footware for swimming. The surf and waves are strong especially when the tide is in.
“Service is good, maintenance of the structure, not impressed”
Staff is very serviceful, the lobby had good appareance, the rooms are good, but building maintenance lets a lot to be desired. I was not impressed with the finishes on the room. There are hotels out there in better conditions with lower rates.
