“Lovely restful holiday”
The hotel was lovely- not the height of luxury, but comfortable, clean and good value for money with plenty of sunloungers and a nice pool. It was right on the beach although the sea around the south coast is rougher than on the West coast so not so attractive for swimming. The breakfast was very expensive with limited choice so we didn't have it after the first day, but we had a kitchenette in the room, so easy to self cater. Supermarket within walking distance, plus a great beach cafe. The hotel is on the local bus route to Bridgetown and St Lawrence Gap (which has loads of lovely restaurants) and the buses were very frequent. All in all a great place to stay, although if you like swimming in a calm sea, the West coast would be better.
“Definitely Going Back”
The Butterfly Beach hotel is in a lovely location, right on a beautiful white sand beach. The staff are all very friendly and helpful, which was great for me as a solo traveller - especially Hazel on the front desk, John in the bar and the lovely lady in the gift shop who was great at recommending the books from the library for my holiday reading. The rooms are spotless and spacious too. I'd recommend getting an ocean view, well worth the extra money. It's situated right by a bus stop, and right between Oistins and the Gap. I'm already planning my next trip to this hotel!
“A real find!”
We booked well in advance and secured a sea view room - well worth it because there can't be many rooms in Barbados at any price with such a tremendous view - and being so close to the sea. The hotel is right on the beach and the sound of the sea is ever present. The restaurant veranda practically overhangs the sea and could not make for a better location for alfresco meals. Great breakfasts and evening meal options - served by friendly staff (anyone who says the staff are not friendly here can't live by the 'treat as you would would like to be treated' maxim). We have travelled the island and in our view the location is as good as any - certainly the beaches are better in the south. In summary you get more than you pay for here. So, be realistic - you're not staying in a 5 star - but you are staying in a great low cost property run / staffed by people that want you to have a good time.
“outstanding will be back next year”
all good best holiday ever
“lovely hotel”
On checking in we were given a room that did not have a balcony - discovered that this is called a 'french balcony'. After making enquiries with the manager we were given an apology and a new room which had the benefit of a sea view. Once established in the new room the holiday could start ! All the staff are extreamly friendly and helpful. The restaurant is simple but of excelent quality. Good location.
“going back next year God willing”
excellent hotel ; as some reviews say if you want 5 star dont go here. relaxing hotel -we felt it was better than the first week when we stayed at crystal cove on the west coast .lovely decking for book reading with awesome views of sea.happy hours x2 daily which was nice. big room cool with good a/c and fan. we asked for quiet upper floor and we got it. not great for kids i dont think and maybe too quiet for teens would suit 30 plus age range.
“location location location”
i have recenly returned from my 2nd visit to the butterfy beach hotel. there were at least 5 years between the 2 occasions and i was pleased to discover that the refurbishments and additions, did not take away from the cosy feel of the hotel. i specifically opt for low rise, small complex hotels when travelling anywhere in the world and the wing which housed my well equipped garden view studio, was not too intrusive. the hotel may seem expensive for the star rating but the location more than compensates for any missing luxury/early close bar/ fairly simple restaurant menu. the hotel has everything you could need, it is clean and the staff are helpful. you have to adapt to the pace of life in barbados in order to enjoy your stay properly; after all, you go on holiday to escape the stressful pace of life at home!! i agree with previous reviews in that it is not 5* accommodation but the butterfly beach hotel will help you to enjoy a 5* experience! i cannot think of even one negative and would recommend this hotel! although...book quickly as i have already failed in securing my next visit there so if you're thinking about it.......book it!
“Fantastic....Great Value Hotel”
Great hotel for the money. No complaints at all. All staff extremely friendly. Great location. Rooms cleaned every day. Will definitely go back, and would definitely recommend. Although, if you are looking for 5* luxury, this is probably not for you. Positioned on a nice quiet beach, which was great as we had it almost to ourselves sometimes.
“Butterfly Beach Heaven”
The Butterly Beach is a fantastic hotel, right on the beach with very helpful and approachable staff, the food is very nice and very reasonably priced. we cant wait to go back.
“Floats like a butterfly, doesn';t sting like a bee”
I stayed at Butterfly Beach Resort for ten days during the England v West Indies test in Barbados and found the place an absolute delight. Yes, it was tidy, smart and clean - no doubt about it. Yes, the rooms were big, well air conditioned and spotless - certainly. And, yes, the bar and restaurant were excellent. But what really made it was the staff who - to a fault - were friendly and always up for the banter. The hotel is also well placed on the coast road for Oistins (and the Friday night frivolities) and St Lawrence Gap (and the every night frivolities). And it's over the road from a pretty slick Chinese restaurant and the fondly remembered Caramel Club. I would recommend to anyone... just one flaw, while you can do the laundry yourself, there's no service to have it done for you which when you're a single young (ish) bloke like me, would be useful.
