“Very nice”
The hotel was very nice, excellent ocean view and very nice hotel service personnel. AC worked well along with a comfortable bed and kitchenette. Our only complaints were no hot water some mornings and a lousy shower head. Location was great for entertainment and dining. Dover beach was an easy walk.
“very satisfied”
Very good location. Nice hotel for the price. Staff was very accomodating and pleasant. Have no problem staying here if/when I go back to Christ Church/Barbados.
“Lovely Hotel, fantastic staff, stunning location”
Decided to book here even though I had read some bad reviews as the price and location was fantastic. The staff there was lovely the front desk receptionist Annabelle was fantastic, loads of knowledge and so helpful. We were in a junior suite and it was lovely lots of room and was lovely to walk straight out onto the pool area. Didnt hear a thing from the surrounding areas, but I can see that if you were in a studio room that it could be quite noisy as they do back onto the bar areas. I would highly recommend this hotel as it was great value for money, if you are going to spend alot of time in the room then this might not be for you as TV is a little old and small but was perfect for us as we were out exploring this beautiful island.
“Was a nice time”
The hotel proided good accommodations and all of our needs were met in a satisfactory manner. We were able to make our own breakfast using the supplies proided which was a plus. We had easy access to the beach, restaurants, and entertainment . . . for a weekend get away, we couldn't ask for more. The staff was very helpful and the lady bartender in the restaurant makes absoluely, hands-down, the best rum punch!
“Great Staff”
We were concerned due to reviews about the music in the Gap. Upon our arrival we originally had the typical studio room. These rooms are small, however, I am 6'4" 265 lbs, so all rooms are small. From that room you could hear the music, but just barely, and if you closed the bath windows, and door, you heard nothing. The next morning we asked to see one of the first floor jr. suites. These are great, and a cheap upgrade. I would highly recommend starting there, for an extended stay. You walk right out to the patio area, and the ocean. The staff was incredible. We stayed 8 nights, and by the 2nd day the staff all knew us. They were so helpful. We switched to the South Gap, about 10 days prior, from another hotel on the Gap. We just thought we would like the view better. Boy am I glad we did. This is not a luxury resort. This is as advertised a 2 star hotel. There is a bar/restaurant, whose staff was extremely friendly, as they were right next door to our room. We are in our late 30's and do not drink or party much anymore. This was just perfect for us. We are going back in a few months, and will be back at the South Gap, you just cant beat the locale and price. Walking distance to Dover Beach, and several restaurants, including the Harlequin right next door. There is security at night, a parking lot with private access for rental cars, and a police mobile home right in front. So I would say it is one of the safest places in Barbados.
“Check-In Process Needs Major Help!!!”
Besides the check-in process, everything went fine. The shower was lousy because whoever hung the curtain rod hung it way too far inside the shower area. Made the shower really small.
“Not the best, but will do on a budget!”
The hotel staff was courteous and was very accommodating. Got some help with the renting of a car, was a bit expensive but still got good service and the staff was always willing to help out. The hotel itself was a bit run down and I was on the ground floor so heard a lot of noise throughout the night either from outside or other loud talking guests. Found I was able to hear every little noise in the night as if the walls were thin or something. All in all it was a good hotel if you are on a budget as it is right on the gap and there are 2 beaches walking distance, dover and worthings. As it was on the gap didn't have to go far for dinner. But it was a bit more run down in appearance from the pictures on expedia though the rooms were clean and comfortable.
“Sleep Is Not An Option”
Start out with the hotel is a good value (I had to prepay so checking out was not an option). The room was sparse but clean and the staff was very nice. It is probably a good value for the money, though far from fancy. Two major issues (I was here on business): Number one is the fact that direcly accross the street is a bar with a sound system that is worth probably $100,000 and they play it at full vollume until 3 in the morning. With my entry door openning to a patio that faced the bar I could hear every beat and even with my slider open to the ocean I was unable to get to sleep. I suggest you invest in ear plugs. The other issue I had was with their internet. I guess someone had gotten them with a virus so when they reinstalled they put so many blocks on it you could not access any site that requires a password or is security enabled (no access to any email or anything except maybe a news page).
