“Can't wait to go back, thoroughly recommend! :)”

My friend and I had an amazing time in Barbados and thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the All Seasons Resort. We were both really impressed by what excellent value for money the hotel was, the laid back, friendly atmosphere that resonated around the pool and bar area, the helpfulness of the staff and the great location - just a ten minute walk from the most beautiful beach either of us have ever seen! Nothing was too much trouble for the girls who worked on reception and a special mention needs to go to the lovely Soniqua who worked behind the bar with whom we had some fantastic girl chats with and now consider a friend! All in all, a great place to stay, my only slight criticism being the charges incurred to use the air conditioning and the safe which seemed to me a little unreasonable but was seemingly the norm throughout many Bajan hotels. I can't recommend this place enough and really hope that I get to go back one day!

“Clean, basic, comfortable hotel”

As my review title indicates, this is a great budget-conscious hotel. It's about a 10-15 minute walk from Holetown, so not really central, but its' very quiet, clean and the staff is friendly and helpful. It's not fancy, but the rooms are comfortable and spacious, and it was great to have a kitchen to cook in. The island can be expensive for eating out, so eating in was a nice option to have.

“Great place to stay”

This hotel is a series of duplex bungalow-type cottages that have been modernized. Most are located in a circle around the pool, but a few others are across the road. They are located about 5 blocks from the main road in Holetown in a very quiet residential area. We really enjoyed staying here. It was quiet and clean and the staff were friendly and very accomodating. They called us regularly to ask us if we needed anything. We found out that there are MANY people who have been going to this resort for years. They have a shuttle that will take you to the beach or within a three-mile radius. Overall, we had a wonderful experience.

Area recommendations
Holetown is lovely. You get to mix with the Bajans and feel like you are part of the life. We felt safe and we were close to ammenities. There are two buses: blue city and yellow reggae that is really fun.

“Not Impressed with Europa”

This hotel has potential but the owners have let it go. Neither our shower nor our toilet worked. We were able to get the shower partially fixed - if you like trickles of water to shower in but the toilet didn't work the entire time we were there. You have to pay extra for the air conditioning and it only works in the bedroom. All in all, this is a hotel we will never be going back to nor do we recommend it.

Area recommendations
The Holetown area is excellent - quiet and great sunsets. Quite a bit of a walk from this hotel to the beach to view the sunset but well worth it.
Getting around
Due to the driving on the left side of the road and all the "roundabouts" we rented a driver and car for a day. Well worth the extra. We spent an entire day exploring the island with our driver.

“Very good budget option”

Good budget option. Has a kitchen. Staff is overall helpful. Location is nice but far from attractions in the South Coast. Wish the beach was closer, and that there were more beach options.

“Love Barbados and the Europa”

We arrived at the Europa and were greeted by Marsha (my namesake or v.v.) and Peter. Marsha showed us to our "room"--really a three bedroom apt. with full kitchen--facing the garden a distance away from the pool. We liked this location as it allowed for real peace and quiet. Everyone at the hotel works for your comfort. If something needs fixing you just ask and it gets done. The housekeeping staff is outstanding and the rooms are spotless. The grounds are well-kept and, yes, sometimes visited by "green" (who are not really green) monkeys and their families. As noted by others, this is not a 5 star hotel. It's not fancy. There's a modest pool and lots of areas to lie down and get sun. We didn't go to the local beach but rented a car and drove around the beautiful island, aided by many local people who set us on the correct road. While you might do without a car if you use the frequent bus service, we did want one. Restaurants are many and excellent but not so nearby. There is an excellent supermarket where you can lay in supplies if you wish to cook. We did this for breakfast, wine and snacks. It was a most relaxing and enjoyable ten days and we wish we were back at the Europa, especially as it's 9 degrees out as I write!!

Dining
If you are in or near Holetown try the Beach House or The Mews for excellent, elegant (but not overly dressy) dining. Also, Elbow Room where you cook your food on a (very, very) hot lava stone and Ragamuffins for delightful fun. First and Second Street are wall to wall restaurants and very lively. We went to the Oisten Fish Fry on Friday night and were very disappointed. Perhaps you need to have a recommendation as to which fish stand to buy from. Our food was dry and uninspired. We got there early so there were no long lines to judge by. It seemed mainly like a tourist attraction.

“This is budget option”

My friends met me in airport and took to this hotel by rented car. We couldnt find it from 1st time, but people all around were helpful and we came -) The hotel looks pretty old styled. I had a room cross the road from the main area - there is like house for 2 apprt. - each has entrance through the balcony and all glass doors lock with a padlock -)) Ok, inside I had big living room with kitchenette + bedroom, bathroom. All was spacious, but like 20-30 years old -)) However, I paid not so much so do not complain. There is a safebox for 2 b$ a day. Once it shut down and didnt want to open - I had to wait until the morning when they fixed it -) The breakfast was not included, so i usually went towards the beach (like 5-10min to the beach) and on the main road there is an italian coffee cafe (very nice) and some other options. There is a small and not nice public way to the beach or your can try to go in other hotel. The beach itself is not so good -) as it is small -)) but you can walk to the left or to the right to find a nice spot. There is a small pool inside the hotel. And a nice and rather cheap place to eat named smth like "Grills"? -) I spent very few time in a hotel, just sleeping, as we mostly traveled with a rented car all around the island. And I would say that there a lot of nice beaches all around Barbados.

Must see
Bottom bay, Little Bay, Bathsheba, Cherry tree hill, Caves, Crane beach, Flowers reserves.

“Can't wait to go back”

Hotel was older but very clean and staff was very helpful. The only negative is that the a/c unit is only in the bedroom so that is the only room that cools down. Other than that it was a good place to stay if you are on a budget. Walking distance to Holetown and restaurants.

Area recommendations
Sandy Lane beach. Gorgeous white sand bay, good for swimming and very clean.
What to pack
The weather going the first two weeks in June was about 86 F. and 75 % humidity. You will NOT need sweaters or jackets. It is the rainy season from June to about September. Pack lightweight clothing, shorts, tees, swimsuit, and most importantly sun block and bug spray making sure that it is at least 25% deet, anything less and you will get bitten.
Must see
In Barbados a list of must sees: St. Nicholas Abbey and Cherry tree hill, The wildlife Reserve, Harrison Caves, Barbados Museum, George Washington House, St. Mary's Church.
Dining
The Tides in Holetown and Brown Sugar in Bridgetown are a must.
Outdoors or beach
All of the beaches on the west coast are swimmable. The best are Sandy Lane and Paynes beach in my opinion. The East coast is not for swimming the undertows and tides are very, very strong.

“Good value for money hotel”

All seasons was a very relaxed stay. Check-in was very friendly and helpful, apartment was a good size, it had a shower but no bath. Hot water ran out once as it is heated by solar power, so if it is overcast or you shower at night, there is sometimes no hot water in the morning. There is a lovely pool in the complex and we were upgraded as it was out honeymoon which was great. The aircon in the apartment is not great as it is situated in the bedroom and does not cool the lounge very well unfortunately. It is very good value for money and staff ar friendly. There is also a decent happy hour at the bar every evening. Location wise it is very good, with the beach about 10 minutes walk (if you walk through 1 of the 2 hotels on the main road, we got stopped at the one so used the other but they are pretty relaxed). All in all I would recommend it as a good value for money hotel/apartment complex.

Area recommendations
Sandy Lane beach in St James is quite beautiful, sunsets are amazing
Getting around
We used the local buses and taxis. Buses are cheap as chips and safe. Locals are friendly and welcome taking tourists in their buses. They have some regge music and lights in some, good fun.
Outdoors or beach
