“2nd Stay”
Have stayed here twice. Great location...fantastic breakfast...outstanding work-out facility...room with view of river with comfortable window seat. Will stay here every time in Bangkok. Restaurant has very good Thai food...abit expensive but great ambiance.
“one of the best”
The location is good, one of the nicest hotels I have stayed at
“lovely hotel”
It is a great relief to walk into the hotel foyer and out of the heat outside, we stayed in the Krungthep wing which is down a "dubious" laneway but once inside lovely. Checking in was a bit of a problem and took a while, but was sorted out ok. Breakfast is good although the fruit appeared to have been sliced a few hours before, the restaurant staff excellent and they make a killer industrial strenght cappucino - lovely! Beds are very hard as are most Asian hotel beds, the little plate of biccies in the evening a nice touch as is the cocktail hour and afternoon tea downstairs.
“Great river views”
The Shangri-La is a fully modern hotel but with artistic Thai touches, right on the Chao Phraya river but also convenient to the SkyTrain. Overall to be honest it's much like several other hotels of a similar caliber in Bangkok but with those you don't get the river view or the convenience to get on a boat and be at the Grand Palace in minutes.
“Excellent experience in Bangkok at Shangri La Hotel”
Thanks to Expedia, we got a very nice deal at the Shangri-La Hotel in Bangkok, I would say one of the best Hotels in the area and with excellent location. People and service are AAA.
“Great Stay”
Everything was very good: service, food, room. We were staying on the executive floor. The view of the river was amazing. We stayed in Intercontinental before, Shangri-La is definitely better located.
“Planning to go back.”
Breakfast was an amazing 2 hour feast so that we couldn't manage lunch and then the very enjoyable 'happy hour' started at 5.30pm. The location was great for the sky train to shopping and there was a collection of tailors and massage centres around the hotel. The view of the river and bridge was lovely both during the day and at night.
“An oasis in Bangkok”
The grounds of this oasis were spectacular. Wonderful pool, luxurious tropical landscaping, and a great restaurant with a terrace for dining overlooking the river, especially dramatic at night with all the boats gaily lit. Rooms have outstanding views of the river going through Bangkok, where all the action is. Location is a short walk to the ferry dock where one can hop on passenger ferries to go up river to numerous must see sites. This appears to us to be the best game in town in Bangkok. Rate was reasonable given the quality of the hotel
“Very nice location in Bangkok”
This hotel lies within walking distance to both the sky train and a boat station. So it´s easy to get around from it. It´s quiet and it has lot´s of good restaurants, the swimming pool next to the ricer was very good. All in all it was a hotel I will return to
“The best way to spend your last night in Bangkok”
The Shangri-La Hotel, Bangkok was totally amazing! The choice of restuarants etc and facilities were brilliant. Views over the river unforgettable. The service, the room the facilities were just out of this world. It was the last night of our honey moon and they really pulled out all the stops with, flowers and chocolate in our room from their inhouse chocolatier! Also worth mentioning we booked the wrong night! and Expedia changed for us without any problems just a small fee, which we were more than happy to pay. They also gave us a late check out and we were also able to use all the hotel facilities until we left at 9pm on our day of departure, brilliant!
