“ist time in bangkok? ideal base for exploring!”

Very impressed with this hotel. Executive suite had amazing views over the city, close to skytrain, very easy to explore. Staff very helpful and food in restaurant excellent, with incredible flavours.. Great place for people watching. Highly recommended.

Area recommendations
sukhumvit area, and Siam Square. Both vibrant areas, with shopping, restaurants, bars, and sightseeing opportunities, street traders alongside globally recognised brand names.
Other
be careful about going to agency offices with guides from tours. They will try to book everything for you, saying it is cheaper than doing it yourself. They also say that they are government recommended, which is why they offer cheap prices. This is not necessarily true. We had a 6 day stay booked in a 4 star hotel in Phuket, arranged by the agency. On arrival the hotel was maybe 4 star, 30 years ago, and is now grubby, and tired. The area it was in (Pattong, Phuket) was noisy and smelly, with incredibly busy roads, and if we had just gone and looked first, then used internet to book it, it would have been cheaper. Be prepared to go and find your own hotels, and barter for price, using the internet for best options. Brochures and internet pictures can be deceiving, so ask for recommendations. If you pop in to a hotel that takes your eye, ask to look around, and to see a room, we found the staff very helpful, and if the price is outside your budget, tell them as they may be able to suggest an alternative in the area.

“Would stay again”

Adelphi Suites is an immaculately clean hotel in the rooms, lobby and pool area. Both breakfast and dinner in the Monsoon restaurant was excellent. Would definitely stay again.

“Great location”

We've stayed at Adelphi Suites several times over the last 4 years, mainly for the location, the proximity to the Skytrain, and the availability of restaurants in the close area. Always enjoyed our stays, and have recommended this hotel to friends who have also enjoyed their stays.

Area recommendations
Sukhumwit for ready access to non-road public transport which connects to all parts of the city.

“Impressive Service and location”

Friendly helpful staff, good value for money, great location... a few steps away from the sky train. there is a small swimming pool on the 16th floor, but regardless it was a pleasure to get a dip during a hot humid day, plus it is mostly empty and quiet ... you might run into 1-2 people. the rooms were excellent size and the hotel covers many comforts you look for in your travel, such as a washer/dryer, a good size fridge, and a microwave. The room was relatively clean except for the dust on the rug and under furniture... it could use alittle more cleaning and dusting. But regardless, the room was decently cared for and the staff was prompt in their response. Sukhmvit is a great launch pad in bangkok, as it's indeed lively and quite colorful, plus it's close to Siam and other busy neighbourhoods. We will definitely stay there again, and would highly recommend Adelphi suites to any one heading to Bangkok.

If ever in Sukhumvit neighborhood, check out Baanya restuarant on Soi 7. Its a small family thai restuarant that serves up fantastic authentic thai dishes. Great service and divine food menu though it is a bit rustic but worth the visit.
Family-friendly activities
Catch a movie in Nokia theaters or Imax 3-D theaters in Siam Paragon Cinema Section, it is fantastic VIP experience in a way. they treat you like kings in their waiting area and then the comfortable leather reclining seats with a pillow and blanket... it is divine.

“Very nice, well located Hotel”

My wife and I realy enjoyed our stay at the Adelphi Suites, we found it was just as described by so many other people. The staff were friendly and always willing to help, the room was spacious and clean - we had a room with a washing machine/dryer which was worth its weight in gold! saves packing so many clothes (leaves more room for shopping) and it only cost us 40Baht for the detergent that lasted us 10 days. We were in Bangkok for dental work so some days we used room service for our meals, they were very quick and no extra charge that I could see for the meals from the restaurant down stairs - the Monsoon. The breakfast buffet was all you could ask for and included in the price. Over all, great value Suite - not a hotel room but a 2 room suite! Very close to the sky train station.

Getting around
We found the skytrain the best value and very easy to use, there are 3 seperate train systems in Bangkok: Skytrain, Mrt (underground) and rail link. All use different passes, we could'nt find out if there was one pass for all trains but it was no problem for us - the skytrain is very cheap, cool and clean. A one day pass is available - cost us 120Bhat - only bought that a couple of times because it was cheaper for us on some days to just pay as we went. We also used the river ferry system but that was when we had a tour guide (Tour with Tong) we didn't need to look for help or prices there we just followed our guide's instructions so can't offer much advice there - other then it was very cheap, a bit crowded at times but good fun and very interesting just to watch what happens on the river.

“Perfect stay”

One word.......perfect! We really enjoyed every aspect of this hotel. Located in th busy bustling neighborhood in the heart of the city. Breakfast was fantastic, service was surpurb and room was comfortable. They give you a voucher for an adult beverage, or non-alcoholic beverage in their outdoor resturant upon arrival. In no way did the staff try to scam or cheat us like other hotels in THailand. I felt safe and comfortable.

“English spoken. Great breakfast buffet, nice bar, EXCELLENT ROOM very UPDATED and chic. felt safe”

The pool was on 16th floor and was very quiet - beautiful, super clean and updated work out room not used much. . . I don't know if all of Bangkok is like this area but many "dating couples". . . obscure from the street but very modern and comfortable when you find it. . . I would stay here again for SURE. GOOD INTERNET included and breakfast too. . . good staff. I am not sure it is a family friendly city - a very large city.

“100 Meters From the BTS (Elevated Train); Good Value”

A very nice in city apartment with kitchenette, including Washer and Drier. Very well kept. Friendly staff. Felt secure. I will stay here again.
