“not what was expected”

This newer hotel in Banff is modern and clean, yet lacks good service and confortable rooms. The 'superior' rooms are tiny- and all look onto the inner(outside walkway)-no view of any kind. The hot tub is great and the onsite Chilis restarant had good service but the rooms were disappointing

“Fox in Banff”

Although I'm not a great fan of rustic decor, our room was clean and comfortable -- a little cramped -- and the included buffet breakfast was welcome. The "grotto" hot pool looked intriguing, and will be used by tired skiers. Outside corridors and courtyard are not visible from the street -- a surprise!

“We loved this place.”

This was a wonderfully friendly place. It had great ambience and a lay back feel. It was quiet in the rooms even though there was a lot of activity in and around the place. The grotto like pool was wonderful. The staff would go out of their way to help. It was a great mountain get away.

“Nice place smallish rooms”

We stayed at the Fox at low season. Check in was easy, the staff friendly and helpful. The hotel is new and the layout is nice with a outdoors rustic feel to it. The rooms we a bit small for Banff and as a minor point the bathroom was door was located next to the head of the bed. Would recommend.

“A Nice Place to Stay”

This hotel is quite nice. The room was nice and dark and relatively quiet. The hotel has a very nice atmosphere and Chili's restaurant is located in the lobby. The continental breakfast was free but fairly plain, though they did have waffles (but no bacon and eggs). Room was averaged size but everything worked well and the room was clean. A nice play to stay!

“Excellent Place to Stay”

This hotel was a great hotel to stay it. It was just a few minutes walk to downtown to shopping, eating and attractions. The rooms were very roomy and had plenty of space. The hotel was very nice and very helpful. The breakfast in the morning was also execellent. I will stay here on return trip!

“Good Hotel”

We stayed 2 nights at the Fox. We had a ground floor room off the courtyard but didn't have any problems with noise at all. We went at the start of fall and there was a lot of older tourists around Banff at the time so might be why. Tim at check in was friendly and helpful and gave us suggestions for dinner as we had arrived around 9pm. Free breakfast at Chilis is very basic but isn't too bad. We went there for dinner on our last night as we got back late again, the meals were huge and quite good. I didn't mind the walk into town but would be less pleasant if it were any colder. Hotel staff can give you free bus passes though so ask if you don't want to walk. Our room was quite spacious and had a seperate lounge room and kitchenette. The basin was in the bedroom but not part of the bathroom which was a bit different but we enjoyed our stay and would recommend it.

“Convenient Location”

We were very impressed with the hotel staff. They were very kind, accomodating and helpful. The room was clean, although the bed was very hard. That's the only item we would have liked different. The breakfast had quite a few offerings that were constantly refilled. Overall, the hotel room, breakfast offerings, staff and hot tub and sauna area were excellent!

“Pleasantly Surprised”

We enjoyed our stay at the Fox. The room was slightly cramped, but we were warned about this by reception & given the opportunity to upgrade to a more spacious room. It had very nice, new facilities, the rooms were quiet, beds comfortable - we slept in! The hotel is located on motel mile, so took the walk into town for dinner - a 15-20 minute walk. The complimentary breakfast was very good. In the middle of the courtyard, one storey below is a simulated Banff grotto & hotsprings, which was wonderful for a late night soak. We used an Expedia discount & considered it was very good value for money.
