“Banff's best hotel”

We love going to Banff, especially staying at the Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel is an extra treat! The very best place to stay in the Canadian rocky mountains. The customer service is exceptional, there is a beautiful spa, several restaurants on site, pets are welcome at an extra charge. This is our 2nd stay at the Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel, This time we stayed in the Fairmont Deluxe Room, its more spacious than the standard Fairmont rooms, so its nice to have the extra space esp when you have a larger dog. Staying at the Banff Springs Hotel is such a 4 star luxury, its pricey but it's definitely an experience, spoil yourself and do the valet parking, the bell hop handles your luggage, the customer service is friendly and accomodating as well. We often travel with our dog, and the staff is also very accomadating, offer pet supplies should we forgot to bring it. Christmas season at the Banff Springs hotel is a magical time, its a castle in the rockies, everyday christmas itinerary, fun for adults and children. Didnt have a chance to try out the outdoor heated pool, next time though!

Area recommendations
Definitely check out the Banff Hot Springs, Banff gondola, several hiking trails within the national park, and The Grizzly House; where you can cook foods on hot rocks or in a fondue set, make reservations though!

“Elegantly Casual!”

This was a return trip to this hotel...if you stay once, you'll long to visit again. What I like most about Banff Springs is that fact that it's a magnificent building in a spectacular setting, but the staff is friendly and accommodating, rather than pompous and stiff. Sincere greetings and smiles from everyone, from the front desk to the maintenance staff. They were just starting to decorate for the Christmas season, and was told by staff that by the time the holidays roll around, the Hotel is transformed into a truly magical wonderland. I'm envious of those who will be able to visit at that time! The rooms are very comfortable; older furnishings (part of the charm!) - but meticulously appointed. Take some time to meander the halls and you'll come across grand ballrooms and other interesting nooks and crannies. This is a well run establishment that truly welcomes you as a guest, and no request is too insignificant. If you're unable to make the Sunday Brunch, try for the breakfast buffet instead. It was delicious - with every imaginable breakfast food available - from fresh baked croissants to yogurt to berry smoothies to your made to order omlette. I'll be back; it's one of my favorite vacation destinations.

“Would have been great, however the service was a consistent disappointment”

The hotel is great however the service was ridiculous, it's a real disappointment cause it's such a beautiful place to stay however if the service is never better than mediocre then one should think about going back to the rimrock where the rooms are dated and the service is fantastic.

“Will stay again!”

We stayed here for our wedding anniversary. It was fantastic! The hotel itself is amazing: stately, beautiful, set against the majestic Canadian Rockies. Close to town, but not in town, so you don't need to hear tourists whooping it up outside your window. In addition to the loads of activities you can do in and around Banff, there are lots of activities based at the hotel: wilderness walks, caramel apple-making (we went in autumn), historic hotel tours--new stuff every season. Spring for a room with a mountain view! You pay for the experience, but it's worth it. Recommended: taking a dip in the outdoor whirlpool while taking in Mount Rundle.

Must see
Make sure to set aside a few hours for the Banff gondola to the top of Sulphur Mountain. At the top, skip the observatory and take the 1 km walkway to the weather observation station. Lovely views and a bit of exercise. If you enjoy hiking, you can do the approximately 2 hour hike up Sulphur Mountain and take the gondola back down.
Dining
The Bison Mountain Bistro and its lower level pizza tavern are fantastic. Nice, contemporary-yet-rustic atmosphere with great food from Canadian sources. Great selection of Canadian beers, too.

“AMAZING! Can't wait to go back!!”

The hotel is spectacular! Not only visually amazing, but the staff was so nice it was so comforting. It was the best place to have our honeymoon and my husband and I are already talking about going back, it was that amazing! Definitely worth the extra money it costs to stay here verses other places. No where is as nice as the Fairmont Banff Springs!
