I have stayed at this property before in June of 2021 with my friend and at that time, the property was a lot more clean and nicer than this stay. I was in a king bed room in what seemed like the subpar part of the hospital from the second we stepped into the elevator. The fridge in the room had a vinegar smell and the bathroom door was quite beat with what looked like maybe a mould circle at the bottom of it. As well, the room was tiny. On my previous stay, we had 2 queen beds which was the same price as the king bed and I was expecting more free room having chosen this room but I was disappointed in the layout as well as the overall quality of the room (the 2 queen beds was absolutely lovely and had set high hopes for me to come back here). Overall, the property on the main level is nice, the staff were nice, but my experience and the room was subpar and I would advise people from staying in a king bed room here.

Wrong pictures on internet and place is totally different than that , no microwave which they said earlier it has , no lock works on washroom almost walked in to my relative as door always stays open . Rude front desk when i asked about the breakfast included as it shows at booking time its available but she said if you want you cancel room and walk away . Been to 11 different countries and over 40 hotels worst ever experience.

The hotel is in a great location. Underground parking was super convenient . Nice having Good Earth on the main floor for morning coffee The beds are comfy as are the pillows. Property was ok but the room I stayed in was in need of a carpet cleaning. Hot tub is fairly old and not really inviting looking, Overall its ok , best part is location

Stayed one night at The Elk and everything was great. The hotel room was modern, clean, had a mini fridge and a nice coffee machine. The walking distance to the pubs and bars downtown is very close. Parking underground was $5 a night, which was great to have a place to leave the vehicle. The hot tub was large, and the sauna was very nice. I would absolutely stay here again. Highly recommend.

We love staying at Elk & Avenue Hotel when we visit Banff. The location is excellent with IGA just across the road if you need snacks, and it is perfectly placed after wandering up and down the main street of Banff and doing shopping. The hotel is clean and the rooms are a great size. I highly recommend staying here whenever you visit Banff.

Overall decent stay. Room was nice, clean and updated for the most part. TV and cable need an upgrade. Overall for almost $600 for 2 nights, I would not return. I had a wayyyyy better stay at Basecamp Lodge in Canmore for $100/night. There was no breakfast included at the Elk, even though I knew before booking once I got there it didn’t seem worth the price I paid for it to not be included. Ice machine broken, front desk staff was VERY helpful and provided ice for me. No robes available to get down to the hot tub/sauna, no slippers or sandals so be prepared if you want to go down. It’s quite a public hallway. Sauna is small but nice. Hot tub itself could probably use an upgrade. Noise is a huge issue in the room. Terrible sleep - doors are SO loud to close (you have to shove them) and the hallway sounds are as loud as can be. I was woken up at least 3x both nights by other guests and/or hotel room doors opening and closing. I should’ve guessed by the ear plugs they left beside my bed. Be warned - a restful sleep is not top priority for a hotel that charges that much. Not the worst stay, it’s a decent hotel, but certainly NOT worth the price.

Property is in an excellent location with the ability to walk to all the main restaurants and shops. Check in experience was difficult with the receptionist at the hotel however Expedia staff were able to resolve the issues in a timely matter.

Very disappointed with this place, had really high hopes for it given the ratings and the photos we saw when we booked it but a serious letdown. Noisy at night, staff not willing to do anything about it and a broken parkade door topped it all off.. they even had the nerve to charge $5 for parking under their hotel without any proper security. Doesn’t make any sense. I love the mountains and I love this town but I’m very upset with our stay and the staff’s unwillingness to help or compensate. We were told to “just use ear plugs for the noise”.. not the solution and not the point. Plus, we were travelling with an infant, can’t necessarily wear ear plugs. The room was incredibly cold at night too, the thermostat wasn’t operating properly and when calling down to front desk since you were woken up at 3:15am to consistent banging, ticking & crashing noises coming from the hallway, there was no answer. Will absolutely not be returning here, super disappointed with this “newly renovated and chic hotel off the strip” that I really didn’t think would turn out this way. Was greeted at check-in by a condescending French gentleman at the front desk and didn’t seem to care about the concerns. The only positive is that management (when complained to) offered to waive the $5 parking fee; which, did not happen. So thank you for blowing smoke guys. Honestly, we should have been refunded for the entire night’s stay. Please stay away from this hotel if you’re looking to have a great time.

Dear Austen,Thank you for your review,Parking in Banff is available for 4/hrs. on the street, you agree upon check-in to park on the property parking for 5 for the night since it was cheaper. Hotel staff does not force any guest in their own decision .As for the Noises, hotel is responsible for the inside of the property and unfortunately note for the house down the street who's partying or the train horn every 2hrs. At check-out you have mentioned that nobody answered to your phone calls overnight at the desk, but at the same someone was able to tell you "just use ear plugs for the noise".The condescending French person offered you to remove the parking fee and let you park on the street, but unfortunately you ignore it and walked away.At the Elk & Avenue we are always respecting guest and take consideration of any feedbacks or complains. The location of the Hotel is amazing. The rooms were subpar. A bit dated but clean except for rug in the room very worn and looked dirtly because of that. Excellent coffe shop and restuarant. Best location.
