“Fits the bill without the frills”
This is a dorm-room style "hotel," as the "Conference Center" name might suggest. I was there when there was apparently no conference in progress, so it was quiet and I got a nice room - top (4th) floor with a balcony and pleasant view. I can't say what it would be like to stay there for a conference or to be there on your own when a conference is in progress. For me, for one night, the price was very right, considering the location, free parking and very comfortable room.
“Baltimore's absolutely Best Hotel”
As the conference center is located in a remote and beautiful part of the Johns Hopkins University Campus, it is not your usual hotel. We found it extremely comfortable and quiet in a small, "funky" neighborhood. We go to Baltimore often and will return with pleasure. Don't be surprised when you find the place on top of a beautiful, historic hill, just off of I-83. Trust your GPS and follow the signs.
“Small room, confusing AC controls, but pretty good”
The hotel has a great setting. The rooms are small. The gym is sweet. The AC demanded that you set it to a really low temperature, otherwise you got warm air. (I've run into this at other hotels.) The service is non-existent on weekends. The continental breakfast was laughable.
“nice quiet hotel”
In a beautiful quiet setting. Service was great. Fitness club in adjoining building was much better than most when you travel. We really liked the fact that we could walk down the hill to several nice dining options. The hotel was clean, not fancy but very quiet and relaxing. would definitely recommend it.
“Quiet spot in residential Baltimore neighborhood”
This is an excellent choice for those who want a quiet spot a short (10 minute) drive from Johns Hopkins or Loyola and maybe 15-20 minutes from downtown Baltimore. Close to 83 (Falls Parkway), it's a campus-like environment, with several buildings in a park-like setting. The rooms are little-used on weekends and other random times, so great value for the price. Standard, midlevel rooms with quite decent bedding, fridges and TVs and perfectly OK bath. Slight problems with cleanliness on both my visits (wastebaskets not emptied, for example) but basics all fine and front desk staff accomodating. At foot of the hill a charming shopping area in old mill buildings including Whole Foods, Starbucks and a wine store.
“Great experience”
The staff was helpful and friendly. The grounds were beautiful. The night I stayed I seemed to be one of the few people on the premises. A real hidden gem!
“Hidden Gem im the middle of Baltimore”
A little tough to find but an oasis in the middle of Baltimore with a country feel and all the amenities. Would definitely go back.
“Nice but basic”
This is a decent hotel but not the 4-star-ish hotel advertised. It's a converted dorm (which explains a lot), so the room is basic and functional but tiny. There was barely enough room for the queen-sized bed! The room was clean, but I can't imagine spending a lot of time in the room. I suspect that there is a big variety in rooms and sizes. The pictures on Expedia show much bigger rooms than what we had. The staff was very nice, which is the main reason for the positive review.
“very nice”
Mt. Washington Conference Center will be the first place I look from now on when visiting my daughter who is a student at JHU. 5 minute drive to campus. Sorry though that I didn't find this place until my daughter is midway through her junior year. The accommodations are top notch. Very, Very quiet place when we stayed. The continental breakfast looked nice but since I travel with my own health food assortment, I only took juice and coffee. There is a light rail stop just a short block from the Conference Center - Baltimore has a terrific public transportation system. Though the light rail would not get you close to campus, it will get you easily to/from Penn Station, Camden Yards, & BWI airport. I highly recommend staying here.
“Nice and friendly staff”
This is a nice and quite hotel in the suburbs of Baltimore. The rooms, were a bit old though but clean. All the hotel staff were very friendly. The only problem we had was, finding the address but once we figured it out it was easy to drive to downtown and back.
