“Convienent”

Did not like the fact that the bath tub sides were too high. Also the lighting was poor throughout thr unit. The area around the bathroom sink did not have enough shelf space for toiletries.

“Good Stay”

Good: - Was in the location we needed. - Was clean & comfortable. - Staff was very attentive & responsive. - The wireless was was fast & didn't drop. - Had all the amenities we were looking for. Bad: - The bathroom was tiny, you basically had to stradle the toilet in order to close the door. - The excercise room was (well stocked, but) small & poorly vented.

“All anyone could want”

The Colannade, Doubletree, adjacent to the Homewood Johns Hopkins University campus was a perfect stop for a busy business weekend. The staff was cordial and helpful. The room was comfortable and well cared for and the overall amenities all that were needed and more. Anytime I am in the Baltimore vicinity and want a place to stay, I'll return with pleasure.

Area recommendations

I would recommend accommodations on the North side of Baltimore, which is quite beautiful, or at the Inner Harbor, which is bustling with visitors, fine hotels and dining and first rate shopping. Baltimore has so much to offer that is seldom described. Visit it and you'll be pleasantly surprised.

“what a nice place”

it was a lovely experience. the staff was friendly, the rooms were clean and nicely decorated, an all around pleasant experience. I would reccomend to anyone, especiall those needing to go to Johns Hopkins Univ, no better location...

“My go to in Baltimore”

I usually go to Baltimore to visit some friends at Hopkins U. so this Hotel has the perfect location for that but it's not so close to the tourist area. A cab to the inner harbor (where the Science Center is) would charge around $14. I love this hotel but I have two minor complaints: first is that the rooms have lousy illumination but I can live with that; second, the room service menu states that the service ends at 11pm but it actually ends at 10pm.

“parking expensive”

Except for the horrendous parking fee every thing was great. Fee was not mentioned by Expedia in its hotel description.

“Great place to stay in Baltimore!”

I was very impressed with this hotel. Everyone on staff is extremely friendly and courteous. I dined in the hotel restaurant and the food was wonderful. I also attended a conference at the hotel while I was staying there and the conference set up was really great, everything seemed to be effortless on the part of the hotel staff. I would like to go back to Baltimore for leisure and will not bother trying to find a different hotel, this one was excellent!

Area recommendations

The area around the hotel was great. Across the street was John Hopkins University and there were always a lot of people around. I felt very comfortable taking a night stroll in an unfamiliar city because the neighborhood was very nice. There were several restaurants and an art museum within walking distance. A cab ride to the harbor area was only $20, I highly recommend going to check out the harbor area if you are in Baltimore.

Getting around

Getting around is easy in this area. There are taxis everywhere you go. I also had no problem taking the MTA (light rail), the fare is affordable and the MTA goes all the way to the airport. If the weather is nice, there are plenty of things to do and see within walking distance.

Must see

The harbor area is great, it has an aquarium, lots of shops and restaurants. Many picture opportunities there as well.

Dining

Philips seafood restaurant made the best crab cakes I ever ate!

“Uncaring”

The hotel was overbooked due to a computer error with the hotel chain. They were not very friendly or sympathetic to my situation.
