“Great hotel”
My room was on the street side- 3rd floor. The early- 4 am delivery trucks used the road and it was bothersome at that time. I would recommend a room on the other side of the hotel if you want to sleep better
“great room, could see inside camden yards”
This Hotel was like new, with a very modern and very clean room, for a high end feel! The location was perfect for me, at the start of the Baltimore Marathon. If you are going to a ballgame, you are right outside the entrance, you cannot get any closer. The hotel staff was very friendly, everyone I saw said hello with a smile. The free breakfast was a perfect way to start my day. Twelve o'clock checkout was perfect for running the race, and coming back to shower and take a quick nap. I woke up a few times in the night to sirens and the shock trauma helicopter landing nearby, but it is a city, so one can expect some disturbances so close to the street.
“A Great Family Time at Hampton Inn-Baltimore Downtown Convention Center”
I had read good reviews on the Hampton Inn-Baltimore Downtown Convention Center and wasn't disappointed. We visited in mid October and though we didn't attend any sporting events the Hotel is perfect if attending a Orioles or Ravens game. Camden Yards is across the street. M&T Bank is a short walk past Camden Yards from the hotel. The Hotel was clean & well maintained. I was with a family of five (boys - ages 3,6,9) and the hotel worked our great. We stayed in a King Suite which was much bigger than anticipated. Good for the family to stretch out, plenty of room for the boys to play. The only complaint was the pull out couch. I shared the couch one night with my son. It was not very comfortable and too small for adults. Although the indoor pool is small it worked out perfectly as we had the pool & hot tub all to ourselves for over an hour. The pool was easy to use for my 3 & 6 year olds as it is 3 ft deep going to 4 1/2 ft deep. There was a lifeguard on duty who informed me the pool is rarely used. The workout facility was useful as it had weight training equipment in addition to standard equipment ( treadmills, bikes etc.) The free breakfast buffet is fantastic. My sons always wake up hungry and the ease of taking the elevator down to a ready to eat breakfast was perfect. The food was good and there was something for everyone. It was great for getting an early start. Though the Inner Harbor is only 7 blocks from the hotel the walk was long for my little ones.
“Best Place to stay if going to Camden Yards”
The Downtown Hampton Inn is literally right across the street from Camden Yards. It offers clean rooms with comfortable beds and is well maintained. The hot and cold breakfast, included with your stay is a great way to start the day without having to leave the premises and scout out a place for breakfast. When you are on vacation you want to relax, especially early in the morning. This hotel represents great value for the money and its location couldn't be any more convenient if your going to the ball park. In the interest of total disclosure, and I have seen comments regarding this issue in other reviews of the hotel, I would say the front desk employees could use a refresher on their customer service and people skills. I wouldn't characterize them as rude as much as I would say they tended to be short with the guests. But in no way would I consider their shortcomings to be a deal breaker or keep me from staying at this hotel in the future. After all, other than checking in and checking out, how much interaction does one typically have with the front desk anyway?
“Can't wait to stay for the next NCAA Lax in Baltimore”
June was the at the helm at the front desk and did a masterful job. Thanks Much!!! Valet service was wonderful. The infused water at night was great not to mention the warm cookies.
“Big City Attitude from Hotel Workers”
While this is a physically attractive hotel in a good area, the staff was less than helpful. I have seen less of a big city attitude in New York City. Also, the pool is open at 9am (late for a hotel) on the weekends, but not until 5pm on weekdays. This is outrageous, considering paying guests should have use of the pool for more hours than that.
“Excellent location”
The hotel is right across from the convention center and is therefore great to stay at for meetings. The hotel is also at walking distance from the light rail station, and you can easily get to the hotel from the airport with the light rail. The wireless access was somewhat slow but OK. The complimentary breakfast was great.
“Great Location to Camden yards, and the Inner Harbor”
Great location for a walking vacation in downtown Baltimore's Inner harbor and Camden Yards. The desk was able to recomend resturaunts for lunch and dinner.
“wonderful”
convientant able walk to everything the area is wonderful
“Nice place, great breakfast”
Nice place! Room was large and up to date. Breakfast was great and the host and hostess made sure that the serving trays were always full. Staff were all very helpful. Would stay there again.
