First night was very nice, comfortable, room a bit cold, nice pool and spa area, but second night the management put a family of 10 children next to our room and they made noise until 1am.

It was an overnight so no time ot use facilities. Pleasantly surprised at the size of the room.

It's like 2 different hotels

We were visiting for 2 nights to attend a wedding at a different hotel. Jackson's hotel has recently added a new wing which is beautiful and modern and comfortable. However, the older part of the hotel is in our opinion shabby, frayed at the edges and tired looking. (We know this because friends of ours stayed in one of those rooms). Instead of building the new wing I would have thought they would update and refresh the existing part of the hotel. It really is like two different hotels. A 2 star versus a 4 star. But our stay was in the new wing and my rating is going to be based on that. I cannot fault the service, generosity, professionalism of the staff who were all extremely pleasant. Anything we asked for was provided with timely efficiency (ironing board & Iron etc). There was some building works surrounding the hotel and some dodgy looking dimly lit lanes around but that is not really the fault of the hotel! I really hope they can spruce up the older part of the hotel to equal the new part because I cannot stress the difference in appearance and style between the two. Anytime you book, I would definitely advise you specifically ask for a room in the new wing.

I booked the hotel online on paid immediately for it. when I went to reception after staying the night the young man wanted me to pay again and was very unfriendly and unprofessional about the situation.i explained that I had already paid and he insisted I pay again.which I did not.very unsatisfactory and disappointed with the service.

Pros: was at wedding in another hotel close by so only saw reception and our room
Cons: rooms in part of hotel we stayed in, old part, badly need modernised but aparently new part is very nice but more expensive
Location: location goodies
hotel was okay was disappointed in rooms apparently we were in old part of hotel and rooms although clean needed decorated and modernised, okay for one or two nights

Co. Donegal is beautiful. Room was spacious. Bath was very comfortable. Some things needed attention, but for the price we paid was happy. Big bonus: Pet Friendly. would stay again.
