“Good place if you're just there to party”

The area it was in was very off the beaten path. The hotel was old. However, the staff was very friendly and the hotel was decent enough for some traveling college students. I'm glad we decided to stay here. Avoid the russian club "The Fire" in the Delmon International hotel though. They charged us about 4 times to much for drinks cause we were white. It should be illegal to do that. I think staying at the Oriental Palace was the best decision we made during the trip.

Avoid the russian club "The Fire" in the Delmon International hotel though. They charged us about 4 times to much for drinks cause we were white. It should be illegal to do that. They even threatened to call the police when we complained that the bill they gave us didn't add up.

“As expected...”

The hotel was as expected. The quality and decor was dated, but it was a cheapish hotel. The room was clean. Though the breakfast was poor and they did not wash our towels. It is difficult to find, one should not attempt to find the place in a hire car late at night!

Area recommendations
I wouldn't recommend anywhere in Bahrain. It's a dump.
When to go
Don't go. It's expensive and lacks the quality of other nearby gulf states such as Qatar, UAE or Oman.

“Oriental Palace Hotel - Stay away”

The hotel is only about 7 kilometers from the airport however due to the location, it took over one hour to find it. The location is not tourist friendly. If you are vegan, then the location is fine; if not, you have to walk or drive to find food. The room was not clean nor made when I arrived. No thermostat to control the a/c, either on or off. Never stay at the Oriental Palace Hotel again.

“very good value for the money”

the only fly in the ointment was the the excessive charge made for two telephone calls made from my room to the uk, they were short calls

Area recommendations
It is an amasing city, busiling and full of all different kinds of shops

“Feb 2010 stay”

This hotel is good for an inexpensive one-night layover. Nothing really exceptional about the place, but sheets and towels were clean and the room was generally clean. Easy to get to from the airport (about 20 mins) and descent room service. Very dated interior (c 1970), but nothing to complain about. Good value if you are just looking for a place to shower and sleep. Took a brief walk around the area in the morning before my return flight -- nothing really around there but knick knack market (blankets, watches, etc.). Not that exciting.

“Your Dollar's Worth”

This hotel is reasonable for the warm service with a friendly smile and safe atmosphere. I was traveling alone, and never felt uncomfortable. Breakfast was basic and the staff were tooooooooo kind. It makes a world of a difference.

“Oh no~”

This hotel is terrible. Not clean at all, bugs, and hard bed. I could not sleep at all. However, service men in front and the restaurant were kind. Also food was good. What an irony!

“Cheap but at a cost.”

Have a detailed street map showing the location of the hotel. Many cab drivers couldn't find it. It is behind the Yateem Center (shopping) in an old part of town. The hotel is very old and doesn't have the outlets and modern updates many expect now days.

Area recommendations
Stay at or closer to the Navy base in Manama.
Traveller's tip
The hotel was cheaper than any other I could find but I would spend a little more to stay in a more modern hotel.
