“Great place to stay, especially if you have a car!”
This place was gorgeous, comfortable and perfect for what we were looking for- somthing upscale and affordable not right in Florence. You have everything you could want here and the gardens and surrondings are beautiful. Fantastic breakfast and helpful staff. The only issue we had the whole time was our room was fairly hot and we couldn't control the heat, however, when we asked the staff to turn it down they did. I would stay here again for sure!
“I would go again without any doubt”
We enjoyed very much staying in Villa Olmi because the hotel was veery nice. It was like being at a friend¨s house and not a hotel and all the villages surrounding Villa Olmi were only a few minutes by car. Siena San Gimminiano, Volterra Lucca, Pisa and many others.
“Not Bad, but Bland”
We chose this hotel as we didnt want to be in the centre of the city. There is a villa but the room we stayed in was in a new annex which lacked character and atmosphere. It was a busy corporate hotel, perhaps not entirely tuned in to the needs of the weary traveller. The prices of food and drink refected this. The pool and grounds were a welcome bonus after a long day looking at the sights and the breakfast included in our rate was fantastic. Our room was attractive, spacious and spotless throughout our stay. There is a free minibus into the city and back four times a day but the last return trip is 7.30pm so after that its Taxis which cost us anything from 11 to 25 euro from the same taxi rank! The staff varied from being super efficient to agonisingly slow. There was nothing really wrong with the hotel as such which is why I feel I could recommend it. However, if you are looking for 'Wow' factor perhaps go elesewhere.
“I would definitely stay here again”
A 5 star hotel that for once really is a 5 star hotel experience. Comfortable bedrooms, peace and quiet, very close proximity to Florence for taxis and driving but easy access to autoroute to explore Tuscant easily. Breakfast buffet substantial and the pool was lovely. Make sure you book on to the free shuttle to Florence otherwise you might not get on. There are a couple of good restaurants very close to the hotel so easy to drive or walk to and easier on teh pocket than the hotel restaurant
“Good hotel if you want to see Florence and have a car”
Easy to get into Florence with their Shuttle. Good hotel if you want to also drive with a car.
“Excellent 5-star resort, right outside Florence”
My wife and I stayed in the Villa Olmi Resort for four nights during out visit to Tuscany. The hotel is in a perfect location, right outside Florence, off the A-1 highway. It's only a few minutes drive to get into the city, and in a convenient location to reach other Tuscany destinations. Our room had a balcony with a great view of the surrounding hills. Breakfast was served right outside the hotel lobby, in a large courtyard by the hotel pool. The hotel staff was very nice and helpful. They recommended some local restaurants, and helped us make reservations in Italian. Just a few minutes from the hotel there is a commercial center with a Co-op grocery store, an bank, and some great restaurants. It was a great choice. We would definitely recommend it!
“Quaint and grew on us!”
Grounds need some attention and can see it was 5-star once upon a time. Hotel shuttle into Florence was a definite bonus! Will go back on next visit to Florence.
“Less than expected”
This hotel was beautiful with a nice breakfast buffet. The service during morning breakfast was less than expected. Coffee was delivered if you could catch them to request it and napkins were throw down in front of you. If you could catch them long enough, they were hospitable to requests, if they could understand English which most could not. The garden had not been maintained for the season, serious need of a mow. No iron/iron board in room, we requested and they insisted in doing it which turned in a 6.50Euro charge. Bathroom was very nice with comfortable robes complimentary. For the price and star level I expected more hospitality which was severly missing. You have to ask for internet access at the front desk and if the machine that prints username/password works you might get to use it for 24 hours when you'll have to repeat the process. The gym was rediculously slim, one treadmill and a do everythnig else machine, also some free weights but you feel like your in the dungeon of the hotel. No towels, water or music. And don't try to fit more than 2 people in it at one time.
“Villa Olmi Resort, Florence”
Stunning hotel for those who love quality of a mix between the old and the new. A haven for those who are looking for a romantic, quiet getaway. this hotel is on the outskirts of Florence, so access to the city centre is via a hotel shuttle, available morning and late afternoon. Overall the hotel was an excellent choice. Constructive feedback on this hotel would be to provide a more extensive shuttle service for those who wish to return to the hotel mid-afternoon and also to give greater TLC to the surrounding gardens which in June should be in full bloom.
“Great but be prepared for taxi fares!”
The hotel was exceptionally good , staff, rooms and breakfast were excellent. Be aware that the taxis to and from the hotel add up. I did not realise that you pay for a cab when you call them! So it is cheaper at the rank. Had a meal in hotel on Saturday, great service, food was expensive but good without being great. Would go back but walk to South of Florence and take cab , can save you 5-8 euro for a 300 metre walk
