“Marvelous”
We booked the "classic" room, as we didn't plan to stay much in the hotel during our visit to Tuscany. While we expected something modest, it turned out as a large, luxurious suite, that even has a private little back yard of its own. The room (as well as everything else in the hotel) is clean and highly maintained. It's so pretty and comfortable, that I would consider staying in a hotel such as this even if it wasn't located with the surroundings that Tuscany has to offer. And the location is good - just a few minutes drive from Florence (there's also a free shuttle to the hotel guests) and a short drive by car to the scenic roads of Chianti.
The lobby decoration is somewhat overcrowded with eclectic exhibits, some tasteless, some redundant, but all in all fun to watch. In contrast to the interior, the hotel gardens make a calm, harmonious stroll.
Breakfast is seated with a nice view to one of the gardens, and contains all the comfort for those who take their time in the morning, as well as the efficiency needed if you're in a rush. We also dined in the hotel's restaurant one evening, not cheap but a good selection of Italian dishes, all well prepared.
Finally, the service in the hotel is generous, patient, and helpful. The kind that simply makes your stay happy.
