“Very Comfortable Merida Hotel”

The Tryp Medea is not located right in old Merida but the historical section is only a pleasant walk away. It takes 10 minutes to walk down Avenida de Portugal to the ancient Puento Romano and another 10 minutes to cross this 0.8 km long Roman masterpiece over the Rio Guadiana to get right into the heart of the old town. Our room was cheerful, airy, large, quiet, comfortable, very well maintained and spotless. We had floor to ceiling windows and a glass door that opened onto a tiny balcony. All our floors were marble and the bathroom was also panelled with marble. The decor was slightly funky faux Greco-Roman but we got a kick out of it. We had a flat panel TV that even had a couple of English channels. The staff was friendly and helpful. The internet was not free; 2 euros for 60 minutes. At 15 euros each, we declined the buffet breakfast and instead had coffee and croissants across the street. We parked for free in the outside lot but, if that’s full, it costs 10 euro to park in the hotel garage.

“Très satisfait”

Notre séjour fut très agréable. La chambre était très grande et décorée d'une façon assez flamboyante. Nous avions l'impression d'avoir loué une suite dans un grand hôtel. L'hôtel est un peu loin du centre de Merida, mais les taxis sont très abordables et la marche jusqu'au centre (50 min. environ) est très agréable car on emprunte un vieux pont romain pour y aller. À côté de l'hôtel, on retrouve quelques bons restos plus un McDo.

Traveller's tip
Les ruines romaines valent vraiment la peine d'être vues.

“Adecada relación calidad-precio”

Extraordinario fin de semana en una ciudad que nos ha sorprendido por su belleza monumental y su cuidado entorno. El hotel tiene un fácil acceso y se encuentra relativamente cerca del centro si te gusta pasear, ya que en quince minutos te encuentras en la entrada del puente romano. Necesitaría un pequeño repaso de pintura en las habitaciones que mejoraría notablemente la impresión general. La atención en recepción ha sido muy buena facilitándonos toda la información que necesitábamos.
