Half the price as many others in the area, same great views and amenities as others. Great pool, reasonable lunch/beer/cocktails. Very few children. Lots of middle aged Germans. Very quite and relaxed guests.
Modern hotel surrounded by shady pine trees, just 350 metres from the beach and six kilometres from the centre of Dubrovnik …More
We only stayed 2 nights, but would happily have stayed more, and would definitely go back. The room was very clean, spacious and comfortable. The staff were very friendly and particularly helpful. The breakfast was very good. Lots of variety with fresh fruit and egg and omelette stations, warm breads and pancakes etc which set us up for the day.
"Lovely hotel close to beach & easy access to town"
We loved the Valamar President. Very clean and modern. We stayed for 5 nights.
There was a really convenient bus that took you straight from the hotel into the old town. It made it very easy as they were both ends of the line.
The staff were so helpful and always had a smile on their faces.
The pool was beautiful and so was the private beach. There were loads of water activities ranging from jet ski, banana boats or just tours of the neighbouring islands.
Breakfast was so lovely and so was the beach bar which served fresh food daily as well as great cocktails and fruit smoothies!
We ate dinner mostly in the old town which was spectacular. If you like sushi go to Bota, you will need to book a day before. We also went for a really romantic meal at Karisa, which is just as you enter the old town from the main entrance.
A very ... unpretentious hotel with a mix of younger and older guests, couples and families. Hotel has a big pool with plenty of sun loungers and umbrellas; sports activities are organised throughout the day by friendly animators so you can have a relaxing holiday or a more active one; situated right by the sea so a short walk takes you to several places to swim in crystal clear water; buffet restaurant is consistently good with plenty of choice for adults and children. We never go anywhere twice - except for here. Just love it!
All staff in restaurants were excellent and attentive. Room cleaning was meticulous with fresh bed linen/towels/toiletries every day. Beds were extremely comfortable. General cleanliness of hotel was superb.
Taxi drivers arranged by hotel for airport transfers were very friendly and gave us useful information for our stay ie local buses, bus stops, bit of background about Dubrovnik etc.
Reception staff were mixed, some more friendly than others but other staff in hotel were really friendly and very happy to help. There is an information desk manned at certain times but there is no information available in the hotel room or lobby area on what is available locally or trips available - you have to ask the staff.
Downside - hotel knew of a wedding taking place in sister hotel next door but failed to inform guests - extremely loud music which went on until 1.45am (they had permission until 4am but lots of residents complained). Next day we were given a plate of fruit as an apology but weddings happen apparently every week so hotel would have known it was going to happen. Not sure why they have permission to play music so late into the evening/morning!
Hotel in area with other 4 and 5 star hotels and expensive to eat out in (£25 for sea bass). Walked along coast to other restaurants but main courses excluding vegetables and drinks still around £15 each.
Very comfortable beds, especially the pillows. Terrace area for breakfast was beautiful and the range of food excellent although the fruit offering could have been better. Fabulous Spa and sunbathing facilities and even at busy times, sun loungers could be found. Sea swimming excellent but the pools were a little small due to the rock face restrictions. Lunchtime menu was adequate. The evening menu was excellent but top end of price range. There was a frequent bus service into the old city which made the hotel conveniently placed. Staff very pleasant indeed. I stayed with my two daughters, both in their 20s and we all would consider staying there again.
