“Great hotel but they charge extra for everything”

The only thing I didn't like is that they charge 30 dlls. per night for parking plus the tip for the valet because they don’t let you park it yourself. And that they charge me another 30 dlls. per night for the rollaway bed for my kid.

“5.0 from a critical traveler”

My wife and I are spoiled travelers. We never stay at a hotel or resort that is rated at less than 4.0 stars. Why such snobbery? Because if I am going to spend a week away from my busy law practice I want an experience worth my expenditure in time. The Turnberry has two great pool areas--the Cascada (quiet for couples) and the Laguna (for the family-- with a lazy river, slide, hot tub large enough for a party, pool attendants, and a classy cabana grill). The rooms are architecturally pleasing, the bed more comfortable than home, and the bathroom truly styled for two--double sinks, jacuzzi tub, over-sized shower and make-up vanity. The fitness center is the only feature less than 5.0, but only because top-of-the-line machines were not selected. (But most machines are state of the art and do have built-in television features.) Everything else makes up for this oversight. Urn of lemon water, swizzle sticks with fresh fruit, 5 star locker rooms, private trainers available. Bourbon Steak is an outstanding steak restaurant. Bravo! As good or better than Ruth's Chris'.

Area recommendations
Aventura is an upscale neighborhood. Clean, safe and modern. Aventura Mall and shops within walking distance. Convenient by car to Sunny Isles and Bal Harbor shopping, restaurants and beaches. Unless you just crave the South Beach nightlife, this is where you want to stay. But, rent a car--it is a necessity unless you are content to stay on the resort or at the Turnberry beach club.

“A five star hotel with an affordable price!”

Beautiful building and surroundings. Average service...if you have a car, expect to pay $30 daily for parking.

“Excellent”

I do not even play golf; and, loved this hotel. Assuming you have a car, its a great location if you are planning a South Florida vacation. Hotel is situated between Ft. Lauderdale and Miami. Thus, if you have travel plans in both of those cities, you may access both cities in about 20 minutes or less. Howver, quite frankly, you'll be reluctant to leave the hotel and its friendly and accomodating staff. Children, as well adults, will love love the laguna pool that features a lengthy slide, waterfall, and plentiful seating options. Based on my experience, I would take any marginally critical reviews with "a grain of salt".

Area recommendations
Village at Gulstream Park...something for most: restaurants, shopping, casino, horse races, etc.
