Rooney's Boutique Hotel is very romantic. The building is about 160 years old and the rooms reflect that time period. High ceilings, tall doors, old style elevator, take you back to yesteryear. We could only stay two days but would have liked to stay longer.
Nice place, nice people, very close to places you must visit, 3 blocks away from subway (subte) station, 2 blocks far from main pedestrian street Florida, take care at night (after 8 pm).
Breakfast was included in my package, it was OK but it could be better, if yoy spend more than 3 days you can get bored of the same breakfast. Prices are OK. Hotel People was very helpful, they provide you with information of any kind to solve your inquiries.
I got a tripple room (#116) it was good enough. At night I got some food in the restaurant and was OK also.
I was a shy, jet lagged, anxious mess when I arrived there! I left well rested, well fed and well informed! The building is old but it's perfect to get you settled in BA. Close to the airport (think it was 35-40 US in a taxi) it's walking distance to the train station too!!

This is the worst experience we had. The "hotel" is actually worst than hostel. The sheets in rooms are dirty, the rooms themselves are old and desolate. The worst thing are bathrooms - there is a toilet and a shower in the form of a tube sticking out of the wall. The whole floor and toilet seat are all wet after somebody takes a shower, because this "shower" is not separated from the rest of the bathroom. I suspect that the good reviews here are fake. The "hotel" does not look like the pictures - I think there must have been a lot of editing on these pictures. And the picture of the bathroom is just a plain fake. We just decided to find something else for the night and did not ask for the money back, because we don't know any Spanish and we did not want to argue with the guy on reception. He did not look very surprised when we turned our key in and checked out either. I suspect that it happens a lot of times, that people just go to another hotel or hostel the very same day when they check in.

We booked based on the reviews of Chez Seb and we were not disappointed. Sebastian is enthusiastic and eager be of assistance. Our room was nice, well decorated and clean. The location is across the street from a big mall and a block from a supermarket. Therefore everything needed is easily accessible. The Subway is located 2 blocks away - in front of the mall. A Starbucks is in the mall for those requiring a routine coffee fix. Sebastian provides a nice breakfast with toast, various jams, assorted cereals, juice, coffee. More than the typical continental breakfast. The big plus of the B&B is Sebastian. He is very helpful and wants to ensure that his guests are well taken care of. Of note - the mall has a very large food court with more than a dozen different types of foods (including a McDonalds Kosher). We had several dinners there (non-fast food) after a busy day exploring the city. A multi screen movie theater is also in the mall and most of the movies advertise as English with Spanish subtitles. This may be a good option for teenagers. I wish they had a Chez Seb in every city.

This is not a 5 star hotel, taking that out of the way let's just say it's only a few dollars more per night than the cheapest hotels you can find (hostels not included) and orders of magnitude better.
This property is in the sweet spot were you get the most out of your dough in my humble opinion. Cheaper has drawbacks(sometimes BIG) and more expensive is just for luxury or convenience. In the end if you'll spend your time outside what you want from the hotel is a nice clean bed, a comfy and hot shower and hearty food(or nearby restaurant).
The breakfast was NICE, there were chefs cooking omelettes, pancackes, etc and a very varied menu.
Very nice experience overall.
Great staff. Free Breakfast was excellent. Free Wireless worked great. Room was very nice for the price. Bathroom is a little small. Would stay there again. Very close to shopping, public transportation and site seeing. We stayed in a junior suite. Because hotel is in the city, you can hear the street traffic all night but it does settle down and we were so tired from enjoying the city, it didn't bother us.
