“Austin when it rained”
The most impressive component of our stay is the attitude and personality of the employees servicing us during our stay. All the rest is what you would expect from a quality hotel.
“Three Disappointments”
While the hotel is quite attractive and well appointed, I was disappointed for three reasons; daily parking charge (where do they think they are, in a bustling metropolis?), daily internet fees (most hotels are now free internet) and the hot tub was closed for maintenance...on a holiday weekend!!!
“Great place to stay in Austin!”
The Hyatt Regency Austin is centrally located so wether you choose to go up hill to the artsy places or downtown, walking was the way to go. The hotel itself was very nice. The bed was more comfortable than any other bed I've slept in! The view of the lake was really beautiful. Good place to walk/run in the mornings also. All the staff were very accommodating. I will stay here again the next time I visit Austin.
“Great Hotel - Location a little out of the way”
The hotel is very nice for 4 star. All the furnishing were relatively new and everything was clean. Service was great. Only drawback is location is a little bit of a walk to the downtown area where the best restaurants are. But for the price I think it's worth the walk.
“great spot”
walk right out and hit the trail Don't really care for open air hotels where all the roms face an atrium, but this was nice.
“Nice Escape”
We booked this hotel in part because we were doing a Capital Cruise tour (private boat with Dinner on the boat served by the Hyatt...def recommend this!!), which also docks at the Hyatt Docks. We upgraded our room upon arrival to a room with a balcony, which was worth the extra cost. We had a nice view over the river and was able to watch the boats and canoes on the water, as well as watch the city. The bed was comfy and the room was spacious. The towels were plentiful too. Happy Hour in the bar was pleasant, although not fast service. Room Service breakfast was a spread and they even comp'ed part of our order when I ordered the wrong item. Check out was easy too. Parking cost was a bit excessive since there is not a shortage of land in Texas! I would stay again, although you'll want a taxi if you plan on hitting the 6th Street scene as it's too far to walk.
“Meeting in Austin”
Had a good experience but still would prefer a hotel closer to 6th street.
“Front desk service a tad iffy”
The first check-in agent was great. The second(when I had another problem with the reservation) and the check out guy were not as good. Room is nice although some hardware needed to be changed out and the layout/design of the hotel is a bit out of date(not a prob for me). The view and area is spectacular. My biggest complaint: the toilet paper. They say it's the little things and it sounds gross, but having quality toilet paper can really affect your stay. I'm not sensitive in that region, but the tp was bad enough that I noticed it's lack of quality compared to the rest of the room and the price. Bring your own soft, two-ply if you're staying here.
“Great service”
After one day most of the staff remembered us. Service was very good. Pool was a little small and there were lots of kids so it wasn't as relaxing, but not unexpected.
“Nice Hotel, Some nice views.”
We went here the night after our wedding to get away for the night. We're locals, so we only came for the room. It is in a great location and we had a wonderful view of the lake and downtown. The atrium was a little noisy when we came in at 11, and the sound seeped into the room a little, but nothing too annoying. Room was exceptionally clean and had a nice layout. I think the worst part of the experience was my bride not noticing the small $5 price tag on the water bottles inside the room. Breakfast was free and it was very good, especially for the price. Overall, I was very impressed with the hotel. There are swankier hotels in town, for sure, but it was extremely nice especially for the price.
