“Affordable hotel in heart of city”
.
“Great Location”
What a great location. Everyone was very nice and it was a great stay.
“It's awesome if you wanna be next to 6th street!”
The bed coulda been a more comfortable and newer, the box spring had nasty looking stains on it. Overall it was a good stay!
“Nice business hotel”
Excellent option for business trip
“Good Location”
This hotel is in the prefect location. You are a few blocks from all the action on 6th street. The room/bathroom was clean, beds were comfortable and we had no issues.
“Good budget hotel in Austin”
I was overall very pleased with this hotel. It was clean, staff was friendly and accommodating (thank you Olga and Nick!), room was large (there is a kitchen), and location was great, within walking distance of Whole Foods Market, 6th Street, and South Congress. If you are looking for luxury, this hotel is not for you, as the rooms are not cleaned every night (you have to ask for fresh towels), internet is an extra fee ($5 for the entire stay), and the heater emitted dusty air, but all in all a great deal. I would return again.
“Hotel okay, good location”
Hotel itself was tired looking but for the location, price and service would go back. Nick, the front desk person was great!
“Great hotel at an ever better location and a good price!”
The extended stay on sixth street is probably one of the nicest hotels I've stayed at. The staff was great and the rooms were nice. The only thing missing was a bar or a pool.
“Looking for Convenience, Not Wanting Frills, and Watching Your Budget? Here's Your Place”
Attended the National Preservation Conference with 2000 of my closest friends from around the country recently. This motel is a very basic and tolerable place to stay in a convenient downtown location-- for less than half the price of the big conference hotels. If you are in Austin for a work meeting or to catch the Longhorns play, this is the kind of room that is made for you. If it is a weekend getaway you have in mind or you have your family along it may not quite match up with expectations. My room was clean and comfortable upon arrival. I stress "arrival," since I was not used to the no daily maid service concept-- until I read the fine print. Be prepared for that "non-service" if this chain is new to you. They'll clean once a week. The only negative was the elevator ride up and down--it smelled much like a wet dog for essentially the whole five day stay. (It was carpeted, and there is a good reason not to put carpet in elevators.) The last night I was there, 6th Street revelers returned to the hotel and made too much noise around 2 AM. I was told the next morning they had been removed--it certainly quieted down after a few minutes. Otherwise very peaceful, although the street noise (traffic) was noticable most mornings.
“Good location, poor condition”
We were checked in by a guy who clearly wasn't excited to be there. The first room we were given smelled like something had died in it, so we went down to swap it out. One of their two elevators was broken, so getting up and down took forever. Our second room smelled ok, but the bathroom was gross. The shower had no pressure and there was mold all around the sink. This place is in a decent location on 6th street, but the condition of the rooms aren't worth the location. We won't be staying here again.
