“Amazing customer service”

The staff at the Embassy Suites couldn't have been nicer. I had a hard time pulling the trigger on an Austin hotel, and debated staying near Sixth Street or on South Congress. Thrilled with my decision - it was my mother's 70th birthday, and the hotel staff welcomed us by delivering a bottle of Cava with a personally signed card to our room. They offered free shuttle service anywhere within a 2 mile radius - other than our trip from the airport, we didn't take a single cab during our visit. The room was a bit dated, but very clean, and the hotel staff were quick to point out that the entire facility was undergoing a multi-part renovation. Great location - the South Congress shopping district was just a quick ride up the hill, and the bat bridge was located right across the street. Plus, free happy hour margaritas every night! Wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

South Congress - you can see it all, from quaint shops to jewelry boutiques, rockers, Hispanic grandmothers, skateboarders, and football fans.

“we love embassy suites...they treat you right!”

Nice suites, very clean. First of all they give you free cocktails and snacks in the evenings and free breakfast (try the made to order omlets) in the morning! I can tell they want repeat customers, and they get them. The rooms are affordable (otherwise I would not go), but you do have to pay more than motel 6 (not that I'm knocing the cheapos). If you want a nice hotel experience without hurting your budget, try Embassy Suites!

“Good value for what it is...”

The hotel is very conveniently located to most of the best of Austin. Walking distance to 6th street and Lady Bird lake. Short drive to about anywhere else, including the airport. The maintenance of the room left a little to be desired - cracked toilet seat, couch was worn out. But overall it was good. Cliff the night bartender was a hoot! I made it a point to stop and visit with him every evening. The managers reception is always a good time, and the breakfast definitely makes it worth while. I like these hotels because they offer larger rooms that make it more comfortable when travelling with a family or staying multiple days. Oh yeah, the pillows were AWESOME!! I slept great on the bed with those big pillows.

“Not Impressed”

It was adequate - nothing special. Besr feature was cooked to order omelettes for breakfast. One day we didn't get any washcloths, and another day the bathroom supplies were not stocked properly. Could have been cleaned in a better manner - stepped on a raisin that we had accidentally dropped the day before.

Must see

SoCo area - especially on the first Thursday of the month. Stop at the end of the Congress Street bridge at sunset to watch the bats as they leave for dinner.

“Ok, a bit overpriced”

Nice lobby, loved the cooked to order complimentary breakfast. Rooms had somewhat outdated furniture. Hated that they charged separately for wifi and definitely did not like the TV interface.

“Don't Self Park”

My main complaint is that the self park at $14 was not convenient and was quite a hike (for me) back to the lobby. I will valet park next time for $20. The room smelled musty or of mildew. I couldn't quite put my finger on the smell. The staff was very nice. The happy hour and breakfast buffet was wonderful. Too many other options to go back to this hotel though.

“Bat Friendly!”

We picked this hotel specifically for its proximity to Congress Ave bridge to watch the evening and morning bat flight. The front desk folks knew all about the bat flight and were very helpful! Their gift store also had stuffed bat animals so that was a plus too. We loved the free breakfast and the managers reception. The pool area was lovely and I am a huge fan of their hotel bath products!!!

“The Staff Was Awesome!”

There was a FREE Happy Hour on Friday when we arrived! The fantastic Sangria was nice after a long ride to Austin! The FREE breakfast buffett was excellant! Had something for everyone!

“Request not honored”

I made this reservation about a month prior to the stay & requested a room away from the elevator. My room was directly across from the elevator. I asked the young man at the desk if he could change us to another room, but he said they were all booked up. I know it was a busy weekend, but I did specifically request the room , & was a bit disappointed. The room was pretty nice, & the breakfast was great.
