A great place to stay if you're a budget traveler who likes a step up. We stayed here for 3 nights and were satisfied. Hotel rooms show some wear, but rooms are overall very comfortable. The hotel roof-top deck is amazing! It has 3 hot tubs with a view overlooking the lush green city and the Vatican dome. The hot tubs were unheated, which was disappointing, but the view was amazing! The pool area and bar area are also very nice. The hotel breakfast was a little disappointing. Definitely not the best i've had in Europe.
The hotel is a cheap 10-15 euro cab ride from St. Peter's square and the Trastevere neighborhood.
A excellent hotel which is ideally located if you what to stay somewhere beyond the polluted polluted City Centre. A shuttle bus runs from the hotel to the City Centre at a cost of €3.00 return - this service was free a few years ago. Staff are very pleasant, especially the catering workforce.
The hotel was lovely and welcoming. The room was clean, however we asked for a double bed and got one with two single beds pushed together, which was a little annoying to sleep in. We went in April and the patio is amazing, with a swimming pool that must be lovely in summer (it was drained during our holiday). Most of the staff was lovely. Location is great, Cornelia Metro is close by, great for links to central rome and main tourist attractions. Would definitely recommend for a short city break stay.

A four star hotel close to the Vatican City and St.Peter connected by the Metro *Cornelia*. 120 bright rooms with private …More
This is a really nice hotel, clean rooms etc no real faults at all apart from 2 things
1 it's a 15minute walk to the last metro station, the second part is thro a badly lit industrial estate. Not ideal if your scared easily at night
2 there is another hotel in Rome called Hotel Ginerva which is miles from this one. This caused massive confusion with airport transfers and taxis. They all wanted to go to the other hotel as no one had heard of this one. So much so that we almost missed our flight home!
I changed my original Expedia hotel booking after a number of negative comments online about my first, central, choice, so my wife and I were offered the Aureliano.
We arrived at around 8pm and were met warmly at reception - check-in was easy and quick and we were given very clear information about local dining options as the hotel only offers breakfast. I had read that the hotel is located on a busy road out of Rome and asked in advance if we could be accommodated towards the rear of the hotel and this was provided, so we had a pleasant night's sleep each night.
Breakfast was exactly the same contents each morning but that's often the case with buffet style breakfasts - we were perfectly satisfied with the combination of cereals, breads, fruit, cheeses and meats, the only issue being with the grill which despite experimentation never made toast quite to our satisfaction!
I booked online to visit the Vatican Museum but there was a delay in receiving my tickets by email - the reception staff were very helpful in allowing me to print these.
We realised that the journey back to the airport would be much easier all round by taxi and the hotel arranged a very luxurious car to take us in style for a very reasonable fixed price.
With hindsight, however, as this was our first trip to Rome the distance of the hotel from the centre was something of an issue - each day started with a trip to the nearest Metro station to get to the places we wanted to visit.
Encompassing in its folds part of the area next to the Vatican, the Aurelio neighborhood is known for being a residential haven away from the hustle and bustle of central Rome while still being connected to the heart of the city. The area's traditional restaurants, local shops, and neighborhood cafés bordering the piazzas make it the perfect place for an evening stroll.
