The Atahotel Villa Pamphili is showing its age. Our room was not in pristine shape: the water pressure was a little low; some lightbulbs were burnt out; the blackout curtains could stand to be replaced. Overall, the hotel could use a fresh coat of paint, and the fitness centre is small, full of broken equipment, and lacking in some essentials (such as water and towels).
However, the location is lovely (less the fact that walking access to the park or nearby restaurants is rather limited). The food in the restaurant was decently prepared, if not inspiring. The outdoor pool and deck was very welcome on a hot, humid Roman afternoon.
For the price we paid, I was satisfied with the hotel.
Whilst outside of the city limit easy to go to via bus and metro or free shuttle bus. Staff most helpful Free Internet as well as free wifi. Good breakfast with freshly made coffee - bonus. Room spotless and bathroom seemed brand new. Would recommend hotel to anyone and will stay there again in Rome.
A great place to stay if you're a budget traveler who likes a step up. We stayed here for 3 nights and were satisfied. Hotel rooms show some wear, but rooms are overall very comfortable. The hotel roof-top deck is amazing! It has 3 hot tubs with a view overlooking the lush green city and the Vatican dome. The hot tubs were unheated, which was disappointing, but the view was amazing! The pool area and bar area are also very nice. The hotel breakfast was a little disappointing. Definitely not the best i've had in Europe.
The hotel is a cheap 10-15 euro cab ride from St. Peter's square and the Trastevere neighborhood.
The rooms (we had 2) were very clean, with comfortable linens. The hotel is off of the main road, down a long drive. The majority of the hotel staff was not very helpful answering questions about visiting the Vatican. Wifi was spotty but fixed before we left. Upon request, a wifi access code was given...without the stipulation that it was only for one device. They did give more codes when asked.
This is a really nice hotel, clean rooms etc no real faults at all apart from 2 things
1 it's a 15minute walk to the last metro station, the second part is thro a badly lit industrial estate. Not ideal if your scared easily at night
2 there is another hotel in Rome called Hotel Ginerva which is miles from this one. This caused massive confusion with airport transfers and taxis. They all wanted to go to the other hotel as no one had heard of this one. So much so that we almost missed our flight home!
The hotel was lovely and welcoming. The room was clean, however we asked for a double bed and got one with two single beds pushed together, which was a little annoying to sleep in. We went in April and the patio is amazing, with a swimming pool that must be lovely in summer (it was drained during our holiday). Most of the staff was lovely. Location is great, Cornelia Metro is close by, great for links to central rome and main tourist attractions. Would definitely recommend for a short city break stay.

THe stay was great thanks to the very courteous and helpful staff. The hotel room was clean and tidy and it was just a short journey to all the attractions. Shops, laundromat and a supermarket are just a short stroll down the road from the hotel.
Encompassing in its folds part of the area next to the Vatican, the Aurelio neighborhood is known for being a residential haven away from the hustle and bustle of central Rome while still being connected to the heart of the city. The area's traditional restaurants, local shops, and neighborhood cafés bordering the piazzas make it the perfect place for an evening stroll.
