“Nice little place to stay”

I only stayed in the 1 bed room for one night. Was quite clean. Staff was friendly and helpful. Only a 10minute stroll down to the main Queen Street, city.

“Great Hotel, Friendly staff, Great Location”

This Hotel Was Awesome, It was right on the main drag through the city which made it convenient, and it was clean, had a great price, and the staff at the front desk was Outstanding!! I just flew 12 hours and arrived to Auckland at 6 am, Of course the room was not ready, the house keepers weren't even in yet, but they tried to get me in asap. I went to breakfast and came back and my room was ready which was sooooooo nice!! The room was clean and I didn't see any bugs whatsoever "and I looked trust me" The room was a little Old and had some paint chipping, but It was clean and thats all that mattered to me, besides I wasn't down on the floor licking the painted walls so a few chipped paint spots wasn't a big deal!! The staff was unbelievable especially the night shift guy "RAY" who was the first person I met and he was so nice and personable and welcoming, He tried his best to get me into a room asap and was ridiculous thoughtful!! He was actually the reason for this review, I usually don't write reviews (I just read them) but this hotel was such a good experience especially for the price, I had to let everyone know!! If you are apprehensive about getting a hotel that also has some shared bathrooms, don't be because this hotel was awesome!! Oh yea they also have rooms with private bathrooms as well. great hotel!!!

“Perfect location”

The hotel is in a great location, on the main street - Queen Street, albeit at the top of the hill! There is a bus stop directly opposite the hotel for the Airbus which was ideal for us as we needed to leave at 6am. Our room looked like it had recently been decorated - fresh paint and new bathroom. The double room was on a bit on the small side but it was ideal for what we wanted...somewhere comfortable to sleep! Unfortunately, like other reviews, the staff on reception weren't very friendly and upon check-in the girl didn't smile once, however we didn't deal with any other members of staff and therefore it didn't affect our stay.

“Basic but clean”

Basic hotel and rooms, but comfortable and clean! Some noise from the surrounding streets, but that is due to it's location and nothing the staff could do anything about anyway. Best for airport stopovers, brief city stays. Overall, a good place for the price and would stay again.

“Fine cheap central accomodation.”

The hotel is centrally located, about a fifteen minute walk from the centre of downtown, a twenty minute walk to the harbour. It is a half block from a bustop for the Airport express bus ($28 return to/from airport). Within two blocks of Queen Street and two blocks on K. street there are numerous eating spots. $1 per hr. internet one block away. Price excellent at $74 for a double with no bathroom. Storage for suitcases....if you check out and want some place to leave your bags for the day. Old but okay. It doesn't front on Queen street. But the address is a Queen Street address. Look for the laneway, about one block downhill from K. road.

Found the staff to be very friendly and accommodating. Staff were on when we arrived late at night which was great. Clear instructions with inquiries and very helpful.

“Well-situated, budget hotel”

A well situated, budget hotel that was value for money. The room, though small, was clean, with fresh paint, a compact modern bathroom and tea/coffee-making facilities. The bed was comfortable and, despite the presence of many high school students attending a sports tournament, we were not disrupted by any noise. The one brickbat would be that the television (a small modern flat screen) did not get very good reception: all of the channels were grainy or suffered from some kind of interference. However, if you're booking this hotel, chances are you're not doing it to spend time in your room!
