“Loved the Heritage”
Stayed here with my family of four in October, 2011 and we just loved this place. We chose the hotel because we had heard the New Zealand rugby team had stayed there a few weeks earlier and we got a decent rate. The hotel doesn't look super fancy from the outside and the lobby is nice but not that impressive. Our room, however (and we chose the cheapest room available) was fabulous. Huge ceilings and our two double beds were separated by a sliding wall. Everything was super clean and comfortable and having the kitchen in the room was a big plus as we had two small children. The location was perfect, just around the corner from the Sky Tower and very much in the center of Auckland. HIghly recommend staying here!
“Great location otherwise average”
We recently stayed at the Heritage Hotel in Auckland as we have stayed there before and it usually has good service, a great location and a high standard. This time we were disappointed. Admittedly we did get our 2 bedroom "suite" for a very good price. Our bedroom door lock didn't work, there was a hole in our sheets, we had to ask for tea towels and a dishcloth and the plug in the sink was broken. Overall the standard was shabby to say the least. On the positive it was a great location close to activities and the city shops.
“Very Good”
Hard to find fault with the Heritage...but here goes: 1. The front door/valet parking staff should be AT THE FRONT DOOR, not at the reception desk chatting. Hyatt (now Pullman) understands this basic concept far better. 2. Towels at the pool would be nice. Going to the front desk or bringing them from the room is not 4.5 star-worthy. But all in all, a fine hotel.
“Great Hotel!”
The hotel is beautiful and located close to the harbor and the sky tower. We arrived early and they were very helpful and accommodating. We ended up staying at the hotel on the return part of the trip because it was so nice. There is valet parking only for $35 nzd, but parking is always an issue downtown, so felt this was fair. Great experience and would recommend it to Auckland bound travelers.
“Best Hotel in Auckland!”
The Heritage hotel is a well appointed hotel, with exceptional staff and customer service. The staff are friendly , helpful and most of all think ahead. A good example of their service was the wakeup service. I arrived at 12.30 am and asked for a 6 am wake up call . I received the call and then promptly went back to sleep... 5 mins later there was a knock on my door and it was one of the staff making sure I was awake. Thank god for that or I would have missed my 7 am meeting. Also good value for money, my room was amazing and the bed soooo comfortable .
“Good position”
The hotel was warm and friendly. Bathroom water temp was unpredictable at times. Breakfats was gret but quite pricey.
“A Family Affair”
We took our two kids (9, 16) to Auckland and stayed in a two bedroom suite in the Heritage Hotel. The higher than average ceiling gives the room a very spacious feel. The staff has kept the room clean and tidy during our 1 week stay. They attend promptly to our requests for extra towels and toiletries. The location is very close to the CBD, Sky Tower, the Casino and a vegetarian restaurant which offer a wonderful variety of dishes (we visited it at least four times). Because it is near the casino, there are 27/7 coffee shops and eateries around the area. The roof top swimming pool has a good view and my son enjoyed his daily swim very much. The only negative point I can think of the on site valet parking fee which I feel is a bit high for hotel guests (NZ$30/night). We have no hesitation in returning to Heritage again but my son has decided that the next trip to NZ must be to the LOTR sites in the South.
“Pleasant & Relaxing”
Room was great. I received more than I asked for as there was a nice small kitchenette and even a combo washer/dryer in the room. The bathroom was large and the water pressure great and there was even a small outside balcony with a table and two chairs. Wish I could have stayed longer! Hotel was a little off the main downtown area but not unreasonable - walk was just a few blocks.
“Auckland stay at the Heritage”
Auckland very quiet on Decemebr 25,26,27, a coffee service in the foyer was good as not many shops open
“Gem”
Great hotel, fantastic rooms, high ceilings, wonderful amenities like pool, excellent location. We were sorry we couldn't stay longer.
