“Great place”
From Putney, NSW We stayed 7 nights & overalls my husband & I are extremely happy with City life Hotel The only thing is the mattress is rather to soft
“Good value for money”
The hotel offers good value for money and is conveniently located. Breakfast is reasonable, staff friendly and the rooms were clean
“Love Auckland”
The Hotel is everything you would expect a 3.5 star hotel to be. Very convieniently located close walk to the CBD attractions. The free newspaper is a nice touch
“Better than expected”
We hadnt heard many nice things about Auckland, and I am not a fan of big cities. However, we found the city very vibrant and friendly. My wife and I contained our travels to within the area of the harbour to Wellesley st., and the sky tower to Albert Park. There are obviously some alleys you wouldnt want to walk in at night, but we felt very safe otherwise. We were back in our room by 11 pm. As I said, I Hate cities, but found my time there very enjoyable and would return again. South Island hotels could learn alot from the quality of service and accomadation of this hotel.
“Samatha and Liz rock!!!!!”
Great Weekend, great service.
“great location!”
Great location, walking distance to many attractions, transportation, etc. washing machine comes in handy.
“Fantastic Location”
Hotel is in the middle of Auckland's shopping district, easy walk to all amenities. Excellent value to upgrade to a 1 bedroom room.
“OK, but nothing special”
We choose this hotel as we were staying in Auckland before flying back to the UK on Xmas Day. We arrived 2 days before Xmas. The room wasn't really ready for us as we had 1 queen sized bed and 1 sofa bed which wasn't really ideal, but when getting ready for bed realised there were no sheets for the sofa bed, on calling housekeeping someone soon appreared with some bed linen but also we only had 2 sets of towels when the room had been booked for 4 people. I also had to ask for the room to be cleaned and towels refreshed and added at 3pm as no-one had been when we arrived back at the room. Parking was valet parking only which was ok, but all added to the cost. There was no free wifi, and if you wanted to use it in your room it was quite expensive. They gave us a small carton of milk on the first day but this wasn't replemished, nor was the tea/coffee. The deal on the room was for 2 adults including breakfast and 2 kids (9 & 15) kids eat free, breakfast wasn't all buffet you ordered the hot food but helped yourself to continental, there was plenty of it though. But when we went to pay for extras on departing, we found we had been charged for 1 extra breakfast on 1 morning, they said it was for the extra adult so not sure how old a child is? Room was clean but old, needed a refurb. Hotel was centrally located only 2 streets away from the sky tower and the front of the hotel was on the main shopping street. We possibily wouldn't recommend.
“Typical business traveller hotel”
Hotel is in the middle of downtown Auckland, so the location is loud. The room itself was decent, but better can be easily found for the same price. Definitely a hotel for the NZ business traveller with a bulk-negotiated rate paid by an employer, not the tourist or pleasure traveller. Try the Sebel instead.
“Great location”
Great location. Easy access to everything.
