Decent location, close to atlantic city...But the room left a lot to be desired...the interiors and the bathroom looked tad dirty...

Posted 30-Aug-2014
Pros: The cleanliness, the comfortable bed and The bathroom was very nice also.
Cons: Maybe upgrading the air conditioning unit.
Location: Knowing that the Golden corral restaurant and other restaurants iwere nearby was a very nice surprise.
Me and my boyfriend stayed for one night at this hotel. It was a very nice experience. The room was clean and we were pleasantly surprised at how nice the place really was. We definitely recommend this hotel to anyone who's interested.

Okay in a Pinch

Posted 25-Aug-2014
My family was attending a sporting event in the area and needed a place to stay. We chose the Howard Johnson because of the name recognition (it's a chain, how bad can it be?), the included breakfast and the pool. The pool looked nice, even though we didn't get to use it. The bedroom portion of the room was ok. The remote for the tv didn't work and the screen was loose on the window but the beds were comfortable (although there was a lingering cigarette smoke odor in our non-smoking room) and the room looked clean. The bathroom could definitely use an update. The water pressure was low and the water itself smelled funky. I'm fairly easy to please so these things, I overlooked. The breakfast however was another story. You basically eat in a room not much wider than a hallway. There was an assortment of muffins, bagels and bread, cold cereal (not much left), and a waffle maker. Coffee was terrible but the worst part was the bug zapper light on the countertop next to the food! Needless to say, we didn't eat there (other than a desperate cup of coffee as I mentioned the smelly water in the room for the provided coffee maker). I wouldn't stay there again.

Loud air wall unit

Posted 25-Aug-2014
All rooms have very loud in wall a/c units! Makes rest difficult Room phone.didnt work, Also, couldn't get room ready on time. Told to come back in 15 min. Came back in half hr., and designated room still not ready, so had to take a room in the back building which had me concerned as a single woman returning late at night.
