“Great historic hotel with wonderful location”
The location is perfect for all that downtown Atlanta has to offer. We loved the Georgia aquarium. We walked and stopped and had lunch along the way. Many nice restaurants. Lobby and room lovely.Check in was exceptional. We checked jin at 11:30 AM. Wonderful free wine at the Terrace bar between 5:30 and 6:30 and they are very generous. We loved this hotel and would not consider staying any where else when in Atlanta. Great experience!
“Very impressed; Will definitely stay at the Ellis when in Atlanta”
The Ellis exceeded all my expectations. Our room was beautiful with large windows. The bed was the most comfortable bed I have ever slept on in a hotel. Everything wa clean and well-maintained. The staff, from the front desk to valet to the bellmen were very polite, friendly, and helpful. We did not eat at the restaurant, so I cannot comment. However, the hotel is a beautiful boutique hotel, much more inviting and intimate in comparison with the larger chains that surround it. would definitely recommend this hotel and plan on staying there whenever I return to Atlanta.
“pleasant experiences but no one mentioned about overnight vallet parking prices.”
my husband and i were very satisfied staying in ellis hotel. Evertyhing is comfortable except one things. We are surprised to find out about the parking situation since they dont have free parking garages for the customers. We have to choose either overnight vallet parking garage ($25/nigh) or public parking wit pricey ( if staying overnight). My feedback is the hotel must notify the customer to prepare with "no parking garage policy" in our hotel and clearly specified the two choices between overnight vallet parking or public parking garage. So there were no unexpected budget surprises. thanks,
“Nice Hotel”
The room was nice but there was no tub, just a shower. The parking was $25. The only downfall, is that my breakfast was not ready before I left, but I did leave really early.
“Great Place to Stay in Atlanta”
This was our first stay at The Ellis. We traveled to Atlanta to celebrate our anniversary. It is a wonderful "boutique" hotel. The location is extremely convenient and located near lots of great attractions. The staff was absolutely awesome! They really went out of their way to make our stay fabulous. The room was a little small, but otherwise well appointed. It still worked fine for us. This is definitely our new hotel of choice in Atlanta.
“Contemporary Elegance and Great Service”
the interior of the lobby is very chic and contemporary. The room was comfortable and very clean. The only complaint was the incredibly loud air conditioner/fan system, which we turned off and it was great. The windows open, which is a great asset these days in a hotel. Very nicely appointed bathroom with beautiful fixtures, and very comfortable bed. The only downside is there are only 2 elevators, which can be a little busy, but we didn't have to wait long for one to come to our floor. The restaurant is great, service by all employees was very friendly during our trip. The food in the restaurant is all "farm to table" which is great; fresh and nicely presented. Location is very convenient; right near a MARTA stop; near Centennial Olympic Park and Coca-Cola experience. The downtown area has friendly ambassadors to help you find your way around the area, and we felt very safe.
“Superb”
Staff very friendly. Overall experience great, couldn't fault anything. Fantastic hotel.
“Best hotel experience I've had in years.”
It has, sadly, become unheard of to provide the level of outstanding and friendly customer service as what I experienced at the Ellis, even from most 4 and 5 star hotels. While this may not be a luxury facility like the Ritz Carlton across the street, I'll match the Ellis staff - from the doorman to the front desk clerks to the bartenders to the housekeeping staff to the maintenance folks - up against anyone, anywhere, any time. And do NOT leave without trying the cheeseburger! Bear in mind, this is a completely refurbished hotel in an older building...though you wouldn't know it from the inside decor. That said, I did have a problem with the heat not working in my room the first night; however, the front desk happily moved me to another room in which everything worked perfectly. Doubt I'd stay anywhere else anytime I might to return to this area for either business or vacation. The Ellis staff delivered THAT GOOD of an experience. I truly felt like a guest, not a customer.
“Great downtown hotel!”
This hotel was a real surprise! The quality, the room layout, even the soap and shampoo were cared about and very good. I highly recommend it.
“"Great Location"”
We loved the location and the modern feel of the hotel. Definitely a well put together boutique hotel. The free wine every evening was a nice touch, with loads of hotel guests taking up the offer. The hotel is located right across from a Marta station very convenient. We had dinner on our last night at the Terrace restaurant the food was very good but the kitchen was extremely slow with a number of diners walking out. The wait staff were very apologetic but not their fault at all. Overall we would recommend this hotel to travelers planning on a trip to Atlanta.
