“Extremely nice hotel”
This hotel is fantastic, very clean, modern, friendly staff, well sound proofed, internet access is affordable (you can buy a pre paid card for 20 euros for 500 minutes at the lobby). The location is ok, but the road outside is extremely busy and can take around 10 minutes to cross (this is not an exaggeration), nothing to do with the hotel, just a problem infrastructure.
“Awesome holiday almost ruined by journey home”
The hotel was in a perfect place - 15mins on the tram to Glyfada where you could shop, and 30mins on the bus to Athens. And more importantly, 2mins from the beach! The staff were amazing: Adrianna especially. Very, very friendly and jolly - so helpful, drew us maps and gave us names of everything we wanted and needed. I didn't get the name of the older guy at the desk during the day but he and the Manager were super helpful too. The night shift guy just needed to smile a bit more and he'd be perfect too! Haha only joking. Everything was always clean, highway noise couldn't be heard with the double doors, the breakfasts were filling (and there was english tea! great!)... all was as it should be and us friends got our two rooms next to each other which was so much fun. The only qualm was the slightly hard bed and slow internet that you had to pay for via pay and go cards. We didn't need the bar or the room service because nearby is a fabulous place called Coffee Eat open 24hrs which serves great fraps, a wide selection of savouries and drinks, and excellent crepes. The staff there also we made friends with - very very friendly area! Definitely would go back.
“Very satisfied - good no frills hotel”
Hotel staff were very pleasant and helpful. Breakfasts were excellent - wide range of choice, and plenty of it. Room was clean and well maintained, with a sea view; TV had channels of many languages including CNN. The dual carriageway outside was, as reported by others, very busy, but with the door to the balcony shut, the amount of noise was not a problem, And there is a subway to cross the road. Wouldn't have wanted to use the balcony, though. And the beach opposite the hotel is affected by the noise, too - better to go down the coast to Vouliagmeni where we found a very pleasant free beach. Transport to Athens Centre, or down the coast to beaches, is very easy - trams are reliable but a bit slow (~35 min to centre), busses are usually quicker unless traffic is very bad. We got a 10 Euro pass for a week's travel on all public transport. All in all we were very pleased with our choice.
“Very pleasant surprise!”
Lovely hotel if you want to be near the sea and beaches and still close enough to the centre of Athens - with tram and bus service on the doorstep. Especially in summer when central Athens can get too hot and humid it might be a good idea to stay along the beachfront with its lovely beaches and restaurants. Staff were friendly, polite and helpful - with a special mention of the excellent service provided by the lovely Adriana, always ready to assist with recommendations and advice which made our stay even more special. Lovely breakfast with good service from Nikki and rooms kept spotlessly clean. All in all, a lovely hotel which I can recommend without hesitation.
“Decent hotel close to Marina”
We stayed here as we needed to be close to the Marina. The taxi from the airport at night was €50 and the next day to the Marina was €12. We had a good stay. The hotel is basic but definitely satisfactory. Room and bathroom are a decent size. Breakfast is a little more than the standard. Pool is tiny but it's a pool. Hotel is right across the road from the beach. Its a good hotel for a night or two. The only problem was there was quite a bit of road noise that can be heard from the room (and we had a back room) so if you're a light sleeper this may not be the hotel for you.
“Value for money stay”

“Ok for the price”
Very nice hotel, make sure you'll get room no.540 as it has very big balcony with a seating area, sofas (partly seaview). Breakfast closes at 10 am,which was not very good for us as it was also the case on New Year's Day!! Some members of reception not too helpful. Although the hotel is located away from city centre it has a great tram connection preety much anywhere.

“good and bad points”
good points - friendly staff, spacious and clean rooms, near good transport links, excellent breakfast. bad points - very busy dual carriageway between hotel and beach, evening meals "from frozen", swimming pool tiny and only room for 2 sunbeds, both in the shade most of the time. overall - a good place to stay outside of Athens.
“Would love to go back!!!”
I would recommend the Tropical Hotel. The staff were friendly and very helpful and always had a 'Hello' for us. The room we were in was quite small, something that we had to adjust to but our balcony was overlooking the sea which was lovely. The hotel itself is quite small but very clean, and modern enough. Our room was tidied and the bed made every day but it was not changed at all during the week which i was disappointed with. There is air con in the rooms which is great and can be controlled from your room. One other thing i was disappointed in was the hotel restaurant, the breakfast spread was delightful but their evening meals are all cooked from frozen and the selection is poor, needless to say we didn't eat in it. In terms of location the tropical hotel is right beside a busy main road but on the other side of the road is the beach, which was beautiful, and the tram which we would have been lost without. Overall we did enjoy our 8 nights in the tropical hotel and i would recommend staying in it!
