“What a disappointment!”
We booked this hotel for the last night of a holiday, hoping it would be a real treat before our journey back home, but it was far from the luxurious 5 star hotel we had hoped for. The reception area was fine - quite modern and obviously recently renovated, and the staff were welcoming enough, but as soon as we stepped out of the lift, it was as if we had stepped into a different hotel. The decoration in the hallways was very shabby and dreary, and our room looked like it hadn't been decorated since 1970. The Queen sized bed we had ordered was in fact 2 single beds pushed together, so I woke up the next morning wedged between 2 mattresses. The bathroom was terrible for a 5 star hotel - the shower was an old-fashioned hand-held style shower head which spurted out alternately scalding hot and freezing cold water, and the door frame was rotting at the bottom where it had got damp. As a treat, we decided to order room service for breakfast. When the food arrived, they had brought us the most expensive option, almost 4 times the price of what we'd ordered. The waiter who brought the food was very apologetic (he was one of the only good things about the hotel), but his manager was almost rude to us on the phone and it took several phonecalls and a lot of convincing to get him to accept that we shouldn't pay for something we hadn't ordered (or eaten). Really not what I'd expected from a 5 star hotel. If you're hoping for a luxury 5 star experience, look elsewhere!
“The Best Little Hotel in Athens”
The Park Hotel is an exceptionally fine, five-star hotel, completely renovated in 2010. We have stayed there both before and after the renovation. The service is unfailingly courteous and helpful. The decor is modern and tasteful. The top floor has a beautiful open-air swimming pool with splendid views of the Acropolis and Likavittos Hill, and a first-rate restaurant and bar. You will not be disappointed by your stay here. Recommended without reservations.
“Lovely Hotel in the Quiet end of town”
We had a few nights at this lovely hotel and chose it because it was in a nice, quiet area yet still close to transport so we could get around easily. The staff were very nice and helpful, the buffet breakfast excellent and the food in teh rooftop restaurant was really great! They have fantastic views from the roof at night, it was really nice to sit up here and enjoy a quiet drink or some food. We also visited the Hilton, which is also a 5 star hotel, but in comparing the standards we thought the Park Hotel was more a 4 star hotel than 5, mostly due to the finishes in the room and bathroom and that there wasn't a drive through drop off area. We would stay here again. The artistic decor is really interesting as well.
“Not bad”
This hotel was nice enough given that I booked a special offer rate but nothing special, certainly didn't feel like 5 star luxury. Room was spacious and clean. Great view from the rooftop bar, didn't try the food up there because seemed rather pricey. Close enough to metro, but didn't discover much to do nearby. About a 25 min walk to Plaka area.
“Great buffet, nice room”
The buffet is great but the hotel is a bit out of the way from the main sites, except the archeological museum, which is very close.
“Comfortable, Nice, and Great Views”
Park Hotel is a nice hotel situated across the street from a local park. I had a good experience with the concierge and staff. My arrival was a little early, so the room was not ready, and the concierge graciously asked if they could provide any tea or coffee as I waited. The lobby is simply beautiful, with well cushioned seating, it was very comfortable there, I actually fell asleep on one of the sofas while waiting for the room! The standard room was clean and came with shampoo/wash/soap, cups, plenty of towels, hair dryer, refrigerator, and safe. An iron/ironing board in the room would have been helpful. The view was not interesting from the 2nd floor, but the 8th floor has the hotel restaurant/bar & pool. The views from the 8th floor are quite amazing, you can see all of Athens for almost 360 degrees. The pool area was really nice. Breakfast buffet was included with the reservation, and the selections have both hot & cold. The hotel is situated about 3 blocks from Victoria metro station, expect a 10 minute brisk walk, difficult if you have many bags. This is not a great neighborhood at night, so it's best to take a taxi in the evenings if you are travelling alone (especially women). I would not rate this against the hotel however, as I had also stayed at Intercontinental Hotel (5-star) and that was also located in a dodgy area.
“Pretty Good”
This was a very nice hotel. The staff was friendly aand helpful and the rooms were clean. The rooftop restaurant was phenomenal - especially after a long day touring Athens. It was just hard to get to from the Metro with our luggages. We were under the impression it was a lot closer to the stop.
“Customer service was 110%”
All the employees at this hotel were very friendly and went out of their way to make sure we had a wonderful stay. Words can't express how accomadating the service was.
“comfortable and conveniently located”
Reception is amazing just like the photos. However room was a little disappointing didnt look like the pictures. Although it was clean. No slippers or robes found in room, this was stated on the hotel information. I asked at reception and they were happy to help, however you shouldnt need to in a 5 star. Also no tea/ coffee facilities in room. Again asked for a kettle and some teas. Reception was happy to povide this. Breakfast buffet was amazing, to cater for every pallette, cooked eggs, fresh fruit. Located in 30 mins walk to centre of Athens to see all the sites.
“Athens Best Hotel!!!”
Athens Park Hotel is fantastic!! Exactly what we were looking for. The staff is super friendly. Super clean hotel!! The decor very artistic!! Love it!! The food was excellent, the service was outstanding!! The first night we arrived, my husband had an emergency "kidney stones". At first we thought he was having a heart attack. The hotel called the ambulance came with us on the ambulance!! I'm super impressed with their attentiveness!! If we ever go back to Athens will definitely go back to Athens Park Hotel! Highly recommends. we are super satisfied!!!
