“The best rooftop restaurant and hotel in Athens!”
We stayed at the Novotel in Athens in September 09 and were extremely impressed with the quality and standard of service. The rooftop bar and restaurant was breathtaking both for the views of the acropolis and quality of food. Although the area around the hotel seemed a little unsafe at night, the hotel was close to a metro stop. One morning we missed breakfast and the staff kindly provided us with coffee and croissants no questions asked. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone who values comfort and class.
“Good choice!”
Although the hotel was not particularly central to any main attractions or nightlife, it was an extremely well-presented hotel. 10 min walk from nearest metro (don't choose this hotel unless you don't mind walking a bit). Great service - they upgraded us to a superior room on arrival, as we were staying 7 nights! Perhaps the only downside would be that the air conditioning didn't make the room particularly cool, even when set at max cold, which could be a problem in the summer. Friendly helpful staff, good food (excellent breakfasts), lovely room. Good value for money. Overall good choice!
“Good hotel in central Athens.”
A clean, comfortable and well appointed hotel which we would use again. A breakfast that was included in the price would have been appreciated.
“Great hotel !!!!”
We went to Athens and stayed in expensive. Staff was very helpful and kind. Room were very clean as the whole hotel. We received Easter wishes and chocolate eggs that was lovely. We don't reccomend hotel restaurant as the food wasn't very tasty. You can eat delicious greek food when you go out.The hotel has a beautiful view on the Acropolis. I would definitely use that hotel when in Athens again.
“Lovely!”
This is a great hotel with great rooms and a great roof top pool with a view of the Acropolis. It is near to Omonia tube stop. The area it is in isn't great but the hotel more than makes up for that.
“A great stay!”
Great staff, could not have done more for us! We always requested extra tea which was not a problem and always bought to our room very quickly! The Internet was also really quick in the room and free! Had a great stay, only around 3-5 stops from all the sigghts on the Metro, and a 5 min walk to the Metro!
“It is OK.”
Novotel were efficient with processing my check-in and helping me with my boxes of deliveries. However, I did not like the way some of the ladies who checked the mini-bar just came into my room without knocking or waiting for a sufficient time period. The hotel itself was good and comfortable. It is only a few little things they could improve on.
“Lovely hotel bit of a rough area”
The hotel was very good as was the service. It had a lovely small rooftop pool with fantastic views of the acropolis. The only downside was the area was quite down at heal. It felt quite unsafe particularly at night. As we arrived in the early hours of the morning with children it was a bit disturbing driving by a large number of ladies selling just around the corner. We did find a slightly better route into town but this was the longer way round. There was a small play area in the hotel for kids with an x box, which was popular but they need to buys some more games. The decor was very modern and funky and the food was good quality.
“Not as close to Acropolis or metro station as we thought”
It's about a 15 minute walk to the closest metro (Larissa) through a shady neighborhood and then about 15 minutes by metro to the Acropolis/ Syntagma tourist area.
“Fine hotel. Dodgy area.”
As a lot of other reviewers have said, this is an excellent hotel in a slightly grim part of Athens. Lots of professional ladies nearby, grimy streets, not hugely convenient for metro and Acropolis etc. But the staff were extremely pleasant and helpful, the hotel itself was one of the nicer ones I've ever stayed in, the ice cold glass of beer in the bar after walking back in 30deg heat was superb. Get a taxi to and from the front door if you're really concerned. But this is a good hotel, no doubt about it.
