“Athens GA Good Hotel”

Great location in downtown Athens GA. A bit pricy but it is worth it. They say breakfast is included, but they only give you coffee. You pay for breakfast. Stayed at this hotel 4 years ago and went back again, and I would go back again in the future. One more thing: WHY DO I HAVE TO PAY FOR PARKING WHEN I STAY AT THE HOTEL? I had to pay $10 a day even though I was staying at the hotel.

“Great UGA weekend hotel”

Hotel was great. Service terrific, rooms comfortable and clean. downtown location was great for University Of Georgia events.

Area recommendations

Downtown Athens is very vibrant, always something going on. The entire town is right outside the front door of the hotel. Five points, in Athens, is also fun.

When to go

Game weekends are crazy. Probably more relaxed on other weekends.

“Extremely clean and well-kept hotel”

I'm extremely picky about hotel choices because I consider the extreme cleaniness of the room and hotel to be requirements. I was not disappointed with the Hilton Garden Inn. The hotel is very conveniently located near downtown and the University of Georgia. Parking in the hotel deck makes parking extremely easy, although there is a separate charge for parking. The room I stayed in was a King non-smoking on the 8th floor. Elevators were fast, and the room contained a microwave and refridgerator, as well as a flat screen HDTV. Internet service was complimentary. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Athens. It is slightly more expensive than some other choices, but the convenience and cleanliness were well worth it.

“Good-quality, conveniently located place to stay in Athens, GA”

This hotel is attractive, well-kept and located right on the edge of the downtown area. The full breakfast was ample and had many choices including hot and cold selections. The front desk staff were always courteous and helpful. A fine place to stay in Athens, GA.

“Great location; very nice hotel”

Location of the Hilton Garden Inn in Athens is great, and the hotel is also very nice. I would have thought that the rate would have included some sort of breakfast, but it did not (so we ate at a local breakfast place down the street, since we know what else is downtown).

Area recommendations

I prefer the downtown area of Athens due to proximity of restaurants (many within walking distance) and also proximity to the UGA campus (walking distance for our family, short drive for most others).

Dining

We enjoyed dining at The Last Resort. Get there early though, or the wait can be lengthy (popular spot!)!
