“Too expensive”
a 1.5 L bottle of water that costs 1 Euro in the street costs 6.5 Euro 2 Hilton No Free Wi-Fi despite the hefty room charges---15 Euros per day or 40 Euros for 3 days--Even in the Business centre 5 Euros for 20 minutes !!! In the street cafes--just 2 Euros first hour and cheaper for longer use. I stayed 2 Royal Olymoic hotel--cheaper cost per daybut got Free WiFi card that I could use for 20 hours in the room or in the Business Centre Hilton is close to Evangelismos Metro station as well as bus stop
“Good hotel with great pool”
The Hilton Athens was reasonably priced for the quality of the room and facilities. The pool was lovely and was apparenty the biggest in Athens. The hotel is a 20-25 minute walk to plaka district and they do not offer a shuttle service to town and/or the airport. It cost us 60 euro to catch a cab from the airport that the hotel arranged for us. However the X95 bus to the airport is available out the front of the hotel and it cost us 10 euro to get back out to the airport. Unlike other Greek hotels we stayed at, there is no free wifi or Internet as with other Hilton's this was over priced. Overall a good stay with a clean and well sized room and bathroom.
“Over hyped”
This is an ultramodern hotel that does not understand guests comfort. After paying an exorbitant amount for the room, you then are nicked and dimed for everything else. Not everyone who stays there are on expense accounts. Even the lowly Hampton Inn gives you free internet. I would not stay there again.
“What I expected from Hilton brand”
No faults found at all at this hotel (unusual for me!) Very modern, clean and efficient. Breakfast choice was plentiful but was the same every day though found this fine for just a 3 day stay. It's a good 25 minute (pleasant) walk to the city centre but the nearest metro station (Evangalismo) was only 5 minutes walk from the hotel if you want to get there sooner or prefer not to walk. The metro from and back to the airport was inexpensive and easy. Make sure your luggage has wheels! There is a lift from the metro to street level so you don't need to carry your luggage up the steps! It felt safe walking back to the hotel late at night too. Snacks and water are very overpriced in the room so take some with you! A kiosk is situated right next to the metro station where you can buy a large bottle of water for 1 Euro (6.5 Euro in the room!!!) Try and get a high floor as the views from back and front of the hotel are amazing! Great swimming pool with towel service. Highly recommend the Hilton Athens :-)
“Great comfort for a very good price!”
The Athens Hilton is located on a very convenient place for those who are not in Athens just for the Acropolis, but also for the town itself. It is close to the nice Kolonaki neighborhood and to the business downtown. There's a metro station Evangelismos just across the street. The airport express bus stop is in front of the hotel. The room comfort is Hilton standard as well as the buffet breakfast. The service is unpersonal and you feel like you are on a huge hotel. You even need to say your room number and name (to be checked) in case you want to use the pool. The wireless is provided on a extremely expensive price, not worth it. Try to book your room with wireless internet included, otherwise... But overall its a very good deal!
“THE BIGGEST POOL”
I have been to many hotels around the world and to my surprise dispite all the negetive press about the Greek politics and economic conditions surrounding this country I must say don't belive everything you read or hear. This country and hotel welcome you with open arms. From Stelios the front doormand and Popi serving you around Athens largest pool you will have the time of your life. The room I reserved was the King with Acropolis view (breakfast included). New washrooms, bedding and towel thick enough to choke a horse. Shampoos, soaps and everything else was top notch.
“Hilton Athens”
Excellent Hotel!
“Perfect Choice in Athens”
Athens Hilton very pleasant staff, great location close to metro, restaurant on roof fantastic. All in all a wonderful home away from home in Athens. Recommend without reservation.
“Money Talks - Beware”
We stayed at the Hilton during the taxi strike which wasn't too big a deal as it is reasonable walking distance to the main sights (20mins or so). However, when we were trying to make arrangements to get to Patras (2.5hrs) by bus to take a ferry the front desk staff were very dismissive of our enquiries. They just told us to phone bus/ferry companies and get back to them if we couldn't work it out. We had tried to get things sorted earlier in the day at the tourist office near Syntagma Sq but it had been relocated to an inconvenient location in another suburb. Anyway, once we agreed to pay the 300Euro private taxi fee to get to Patras, suddenly the concierge phoned the ferry company and got tickets couriered over. I would've expected pleasant helpful service in the first place. Another strange thing happened while my fiance and I were having a bath about 5PM - there was a light knock on the door, followed quickly by a male member of staff opening the door without giving us time to respond. There was line-of-sight into the bathroom so we were quite annoyed, thankfully the door latch was on. The staff member said he would return later, but never did. I can only guess what was going on. The hotel itself is pleasant, but impersonal, more appropriate for business travellers. The buffet dinner and breakfast is overpriced, as is the rooftop Galaxy bar/restaurant (it has views of the Parthenon at night, so high prices are to be expected). All in all a bitter taste left.
“Best Location”
I think I made the best choice in booking this hotel. It has the perfect location, the rooms are beautiful and spacious, the lobby is impressive, and the bar and lounge on the top floor has the best view and ambiance at night. The view at night is really spectacular. I would highly recommend this property if you are visiting Athens. We stayed for one night on our way to Mykonos, but I would definitely come back to the Hilton Athens when I go back and stay a bit more to enjoy Athens.
