“Average”
Pros. Great location for the tram into Athens. Only 1.7 euros !!!! Cons. Pool and rooftop closed and not advised prior to travel. This is clearly the hotel's main feature with beautiful views etc. Very dissapointed !! Without this the hotel is a little dated. Not 4*. Actually a 2 or 3*. Cons. Hotel located on very busy dual carriageway and generally run down area. Cons. Coffee from a Nescafe machine !!
““We enjoyed our stay very much despite the traffic”
We stayed at this hotel for 5 nights. Overall, the hotel was great, with many nice beaches within walking distance or short tram ride. The staff was very friendly and the food was good. There was a wide selection at breakfast: eggs, toast, yoghurt, cereal ect.. Dinner was also very good. Hotel is very clean and welcoming. The hotel is easily reachable from central Athens by bus or tram in about 45 minutes. Rooms are a bit noisy since hotel is located on a busy street.
“Near Athens Airport”
We stayed at the hotel because they were near the airport & they had a shuttle bus. They forgot to tell us that the shuttle bus doesn't run on weekends & when it does run starts at 8:00 AM. They told us the cab fare to the airport was $25 but forgot to inform us that if you leave early in the morning it becomes $35. The hotel itseld ivery nice it has a roof top lounge/restaurant which are nice. The rooms are nice but the hotel is near a very, very busy noisy street & the noise is very loud so sitting on the balcony is only for late at night. I wouldn't stay again.
“not impressed with Athens”
The hotel room was really small as 3 of us stayed there, had to breath in to let each other past. They didnt have a kettle and the room was very basic. Also the hotel is on a main road so not much of a view from the balcony; but on the up side it is close to the local shop's. There wasnt much to see in the local area so would recommend that people find a hotel in main Athens as thats where we spent most of our time. Was disappointed with Athens in general as people werent very friendly.
“Good location”
The hotel is situated far enough out of Athens to be "out of town" but close enough to get in there when you want to. There is a great tram service which runs along the beach in front and only costs 1 Euro for 90 mins use, or 3 Euros for the whole day - this includes all public transport for Athens too (hear that TFL?). Glyfada itself is quite a shopping district with all the big name international stores as well as a few local ones, and there a plenty of restaurants and cafes. The hotel staff were fantastic - really friendly and helpful and could answer any questions we ha, and the rooftop terrace with bar and pool is a definite drawcard. The only detraction for me was that the hotel is on a main road so there is quite a bit of road noise, but the rooms are all double-glazed so it's easy enough to close it out, as well as keep the airconditioning in! One last thing, the hotel offers an airport transfer which you can book before getting there which is well worthwhile. Cheers.
“Don't stay at this hotel”
I have traveled a lot, and been in many European hotels and i know what to expect. However the front desk at this hotel was not helpfull at all. When asked for directions to the city center, they told me quickly and then got frustrated with me when I asked them to write it down so I could understand the Name of the Tram stop I needed to get off at. Also, the last night we were there, the Hotel had rented out the roof bar/pool area. We were given an alternate location to go to, but you had to cross the busy "Highway" to get there. Also the noise from the party was so loud it shook the hotel walls until 0330 in the morning. When I called down to ask if they could do something about the noise, I was told that there was nothing they could do. I had to get up a 6 am for my flight. BAD customer service!
“Would definitely use this hotel again.”
Very clean, newly renovated/modernized, exceptionally courteous and helpful staff, very close to bus stop, 5 minutes to Glyfada square by foot.
“Very nice hotel”
The hotel was very clean and conveniently located near the train. The roof top has a pool, a bar and nice views of Athens. The neighborhood of Glyfada is also enjoyable with great restaurants and some shopping. The price of the hotel is also very reasonable. I definitely recommend this hotel to others.
“helpful staff”
Most helpful reception staff ever encountered - pleasant without being obsequious and receptionist went out of her way to help with public transport options - without trying to sell on any expensive tours. Easy access to central athens (1 euro on tram or bus)and good to be able to leave the centre and head for the beach. - but 6 lane motorway outside is daunting and noisy. Double glazing means you can sleep at night but you really wouldn't want to sit on the balcony. But as soon as you turn off down a side road - to the beach or Glyfada centre it is quiet.
“hotel EMMANTINA Glyfada, Athens.”
Good hotel overall but service and conditions of the building must be improved.
