“Bad Neighborhood but very convenient and great service.”
Yes it's a scary neighborhood, but I walk 2 times late at nigh and I didn't have any problem. The service it was vVERY good, very helpful the staff and it was a good deal for me, 5 euros in taxi distance from the main attractions... I'll come back again.
“Excellent hotel for the price”
Hotel had a very friendly staff and really nice breakfast buffet. The rooms were very clean, a bit small and the beds were soft. The inside of the hotel is really nice but the immediate surrounding neighborhood is rough. Along side the Museum in a pedestrian promanade are numerous homeless people. There are usually police at either end. In the other direction, the area is populated with bars/cafes (mostly a young punky crowd) and a few good restaurants. It doesn't look really safe but we had no problem walking to and from dinner. The city centre is actually quite small and by the second day, we walked (in the "good" direction) from the hotel to the New Acropolis Museum.
“PLEASANT SURPRISE”
PROS: Close to National Museum and Metro. Free Continental breakfast. Helpful staff. Free computer use but very slow computers. Low price. Clean rooms. Elevator. Helpful staff. CONS: Small room. Tiny bathroom. Questionable neighborhood. Few amenities. No pool, now weight room. Air conditioner provided little relief. I needed a place to wait for my cruise ship. This place fit the bill.
“Just behind the wonderful Archaeological Museum”
I was delighted to get access to my room at 9.30am (having just come off a cruise). I was expecting to have to wait until 2pm. It is a fair walk to Omonia Metro station through an area that seemed a bit seedy (it was Sunday morning & most of the little shops along the route were shut). I did find that lots of different bus routes operate just near the front and along the right side of the Museum, but as I was only in Athens for the one day, I did not check them out. The breakfast was outstanding, with breads and cereals, as well as hot and cold savoury foods and a variety of hot and cold beverages. There are two internet computers free to residents in a downstairs area. The staff on duty were very helpful, friendly and spoke good English. There was a section for maps and attractions but not a tours booking office.
“Great hotel, but bad neighbourhood”
I will not recommend this hotel, as the location, however in the very center of Athens, is not good at all.
“Good, for Athens”
Clean room. Expensive, but all hotels in Athens are this way. The room was long and narrow - with beds placed head-to-head ! Smallest shower I have ever seen (2 ft by 2ft). Well maintained. Very helpful frontdesk. Great (free) continental breakfast. Quiet location, right behind the museum. About a 10 min walk to the Omonia Metro, but you might want to use the bus - much closer and more convenient. Cheap food joints galore. I'd recommend without any reservations.
“Nice Hotel”
It is a nice hotel and there is a direct bus of 224 which can take you directly to the entrance of the hotel. Thus, location is not bad. Staff are fairly good, or may be that's the culture of Athens. Anyway, it is a good hotel in a reasonable price.
“Great, Safe, Hotel”
When trying to find a hotel in France I was worried because every review I read talked about how the neighborhoods at night were kind of scary. Athens as a whole doesn't seem to have the nicest neighborhood, but while this hotel is kind of removed from the main places of the city, besides the Museum, it was a great hotel and felt safe. I think no matter where you stay at, for convenience you would want to take a taxi back ot your hotel at night, but traveling by myself my safety was never an issue at the hotel. The staff was great and the breakfast that the hotel serves was the perfect way to start my day. Such a great place to stay at!
“Great for the price”
Great comfy room, but with a small shower. It's in a location where it's easy to walk to the metro or a bus stop.
“Not bad for the price”
A little bit out of the way, but for the price it was ok. Once you figure out the public transportation, it's not so bad. As others have mentioned, not ideal for an extended stay because it is really not close to anything but the museum. Nice that it included breakfast each morning. Being a family of 4 in a junior suite, it was a bit cramped. The hotel staff at the front desk was friendly and helpful.
