“Great value for money”

This is a great option when traveling with a large family, very good location and space. It is basic and service not that great but you have the convenience of having small kitchen and plenty of space.

I adored this apartment! It is very kitch and is very 70's in essence. I would say that it definitely comes down to personal taste with this place and I could see how some people could be put off by the wonky shelves and strange ornate trinkets dotted around the place. The staff are lovely and our double room was huge, with another single bed in the living room. There was also a large sofa and decent balcony. The apartments are in an ideal location, a ten minute walk from Varkitza beach and a short bus ride (E22) to Glyfada and Vouliagmeni, with shops and more beaches. Be warned however, Glydada and Vouliagmeni are both very rich areas and the price of a meal and drinks goes up hugely in comparison to Varkitza. I recommend 'Zaxos' for cheap, tasty souvlaki (skewered kebabs) and a glass or two of Ouzo. The one thing we did notice was that the apartments were not entirely child friendly. As we do not have children this was not a hindrance for us, however there were a lot of power sockets that looked a little shabby and a couple of loose wires coming out of the walls. Be VERY careful on the balconies too, the rail was only up to our thighs so it would be very easy for an accident to occur if someone slipped or, heaven forbid, a child ran out too fast. All in all I would definitely recommend these apartments for couples, single travellers and anyone who loves to be by the sea. For the price it is excellent but I would think twice about bringing young children.

“Not all bad”

Having read previous reviews, I was very skeptical about booking to stay at the Apollonia Hotel Apartments but as we were traveling on a very tight budget, we didn't really have much choice as to where we could stay so we decided to take a risk with this one. We stayed 3 nights, I am happy to report that the place wasn't all bad (however I have no idea how this place managed to get for stars as that is definatly not a true reflection!). If you want to visit central Athens, then it is not ideal as the hotel is located approximately 30 minutes drive from the city centre but if you are looking for a coastal holiday then the location is great. The hotel is in a quiet residential area and is a 10 minute walk from the main strip where there are some nice restaurants, a nice bakery and a nice beach. The place is dated and basic and could do with an overall refurbishment, but the pool was nice and the reception staff helpful with booking taxis and telling us how to get to different places. Didn't come across any mosquitoes until the last night when I did get bitten in my sleep which was really annoying. So if you need to stay somewhere and you are on a budget then I would say go for this place, but if you are looking for any sort of luxury then definatly look elsewhere.
