“Good hotel in the heart of Athens”
This hotel is superbly located for any first-timer in Athens - walking distance to the Acropolis and the Temple of Zeus as well as to Plaka and Syntagma Square. The hotel itself if very good (good breakfast)... Would love to go back again...
“Great location”
Great location, comfortable clean room and excellent breakfast.
“great location”
Hotel Parthenon was very convenient to the Acropolis, Plaka and subway. Our front desk/concierge was so helpful and informative. We enjoyed our stay.
“A welcome location”
After a harrowing trip from the Athens airport to the hotel due to a public transportation strike, the staff at the hotel could not have been friendlier. The room was great, the location was awsome, and the free breakfast in the morning was very good. I would definitely stay there again!!!
“Great Service and Location”
I would recommend to stay there. Very good service, perfect location, good breakfast.
“Great Location and Service”
The best thing about the hotel was its location. I took the subway from the airport to the Acropolis stop. When I came up out of the subway, I walked around the corner to the hotel. The Acropolis was also right around the corner. In addition, the Plaka, which is the old neighborhood with all of the shopping, etc., was a 10-minute walk. It was perfect for me. I had a room on the third floor. The wireless connection was fine in my room for most of the time. There was about 2 hours one morning where the entire hotel lost connection, but it was restored. The breakfast was great--a very large spread compared to other hotels where I have stayed in Greece. The room was small, but fine for me. I would not recommend this hotel for families because the rooms are too small to accommodate. But, singles and couples will find that it fits their basic needs. Overall, I was very happy with my brief stay.
“Excellent all round”
After carefully selecting our hotel by reading others reveiws of the areas in Athens and finding one at a good price with free wifi and buffet breakfast inluded the Parthenon was our choice, And we could not have chosen a better hotel the staff were friendly and helpful one example when we got there we tried the free wifi but to no avail so the recepionist came to our room to help and brought with him a ethernet cable so we could connect that way, but the hotel also provides its own computer with printer and paper in the lobby for all guests to use. The buffet breakfast had all you could wish for and more, and we were pleased to discover the tv had a dvd player in it which when in a country that you dont speak the language of was great. usually we are stuck watching bbc world news or cnn. The beds, mattresses and pillows were very comfortable. The hotel is conveniently located for the metro which is less than 3 minutes walk we found the trains , ticket machines all had the information in the english alphabet not just the greek, the acropolis stop for the hotel is just one change of train from the airport the journey does take up to 50 minutes and can get busy but only costs 8 euro for a single or 14 euro for two people. You can also book tours through the reception desk and the staff are only to pleased to help. the area around the hotel feels safe unlike some I have read reveiws on and has lots of nice restaurants serving traditional greek food.
“Unbeatable location, great service, and best value”
Just a couple blocks from the Acropolis, new Acropolis museum, and Plaka. Great restaurants and shops nearby. The staff were awesome and very accomodating to our infant son by allowing us to adjust our check-in/out times. Excellent breakfast and free wi-fi. I would stay here again and again!!
“Nice Surprise!”
Had heard that hotels in Athens can be a bit dodgy, but this hotel was a nice surprise. The staff were extremely knowledgable and helpful. On check-in they gave us a free map of the city and brochures on things to do. They also provided a very nice breakfast with a good variety of food including cereals, cooked food, local sweets and good coffee.
“Great location and easy access to get around. Breakfast could have been better.”
Reception staff very helpful and professional. Perfect location for getting around. The metro system was fab and made UK underground look third world. Went to Piraeus thinking it would be nice to go for a lunch. Don't bother very dirty, rubbish everywhere and really run down. Plaka lovely as ever but put off when shops selling fake designer goods at 90 euros and then when leaving the shop offered it for 20 euros!! Lost creditability in my eyes, understand barter but that's silly! Would recommend hotel, breakfast could have been better.
